Hello and just THANK YOU. In some places she was able to show what she can do with her voice. I especially liked the ending. For me it is a very beautiful song for her voice. And the atmosphere on stage with the dancers is also wonderful.

The audio mix was really flat on this for some reason. She performed this song again for a live radio set and her voice was much more forward in the mix. The difference is actually night and day. You can find the full set on the Autoradio CZcams channel. They have both the full set with interview questions (about half an hour) as well as the individual songs. She did two covers (including this one) and then sang songs from her own repertoire.
One of the categories from this show was Rock Hit and she covered Olga Kormukhina's "Way". Olga was also the guest that day, as well. The Depeche Mode cover was for the "Singer's Choice" category, where Diana could sing whatever she wanted. She also covered Linda's Vorona (Crow) for the Pop Hit category.
You are right about the intensity and presence! Diana said that she didn’t remember a thing about this performance, so intense she was when she went in it. Not my favorite arrangement, but still a power one im her voice.

Diana took part in the Russian television competition 'Шоумаскгоон' (ShowMASKGoOn, Nov.2021), her first competition for adults. The rules of the competition :
9 winners of the previous shows 'The Mask', 'Superstar' and 'You are Super' participated in this new format (9 episodes) and had to sing in 9 categories. The guest of honor (a different one in each episode), who sits with the candidates, also awards 9 bonus points to his favorite.
Categories: Folk Hit, Song at the End of the 20th Century, Soviet Song, Pop Hit, Song of Your Choice, New Music, Song from Cartoon or Film, Rock Hit, Grammy.
At the same time, the participants are also the jury and had to evaluate each other (2-9 points). You couldn't give yourself any points. The 9 participants had to prepare the songs assigned to them for themselves and for the stage. This also included pre-recordings of the background vocals. The participants mastered the show with flying colors. If it looked like tough competition at first they decided to be friendly and humorous ... it was great to see the show.

Greetings from Scotland! Interesting that you spoke about the religious aspect of this. It actually has nothing do do with religion per se. Depeche Mode originally performed this. The lyric writer and band member Martin Gore explained that the lyrics were actually based on the autobiography Elvis And Me by Priscilla Presley. He said “ *It's a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It's about how Elvis Presley was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships; how everybody's heart is like a god in some way, and that's not a very balanced view of someone, is it?* ”
Basically it's somebody you can rely on to be truthful, cares for you and will always be there to help if you need it. A kinda "Personal Jesus" The kind of friend we should all have!
