Great advice, also, There is a wire you can buy that can charge the Glowplug igniter directly from your battery charger and show you the voltage it contains. I saw a video the other day where the guy used a baby nose cleaning bulb to prime the engine. He stuck the tip into the exhaust pipe hole and squeezed. It was genius and so simple. Try that one!
Im totally new to Nitro rc cars. I have used electrics, but a friend found a nitro rc car in her shed which she thinks has been unused for 15 years. She gave it to me to see if i could get it running. It us a Losi Muggy 1/8 scale. I watched your video and now i have some good tips to check out. The engine runs but the transmitter does not work the throttle and brake servo so I has bought a Flysky FS GT3B transmitter and receiver. One of the front suspension wishbones is cracked so i will replace that when i can get the parts. I have cable tied it for now!. The air filter foam was shot so i have fitted a new filter. The steering linkages look realy loose so i will take them off to see if the need adjusting or replacing. I have adjusted the carb to the factory settings so it made me smile when you said they were not much good. I want to get this running without spending a fortune so thanks for all your advice. This is the first video I have watched with practical advice for total newbies. Keep the videos comming. Cheers, Rich

The steering seemed slow. The Muggy has 2 steering servos and when I took the linkage off one servo goes not work and the other is grinding, so back on Amazon to buy 2 new servos. I am determined to get it going but I'm enjoying the tinkering .
@richardheal4247 Nice, try to avoid Amazon if you can. Use real shops if you can you know you’re getting proper stuff then. Amazon is full of bad quality stuff when it comes to RC. 👍🏻

You know that wheel wrench you got sitting on the table there besides the glowstarter the four holes in it are to put glow plugs in just a thought
Did this before, if your pullstart snaps you can push start it, take the clutch bell gear and remove the bearing and replace it for a one way bearing and you can push start

Great info bro. I always wash my air filter in my kitchen sink with dish soap. Squeeze it dry. Let it sit. Then oil and install. I also try to Never remove the glow plug unless needed. Which is almost never. All priming options are good. I put finger over exhaust. Like you showed. I get a kick out of the names you call things. Im.in usa. So.much different slang here. Keep.making nitro great bro. God bless

I just use brake cleaner instead of my nitro to clean my filters

@teamnevalus6363 Not safe to drink but otherwise at as safe as petrol or diesel. Totally fine.
The electric pump thinking about what you said it would hook up to the transmitter for it to turn on probably channel 3 or 4 there usually nothing there empty the only thing I can think of is the electric pump when turned on it would auto prime the fuel line by remote then probably wire in a glow ignitor control box and electric start to it would be similar to how new cars turn on and work with a key fob to start your car but instead your using a rc remote control and turning on your nitro truck it would no longer would need a roto start or pull star and a glow plug ignore and batteries no longer would be need it would be powered all off your hump pack and your receiver. I guess you can say it's a electric nitro car that would have to be tuned and fuel up you probably would also be able to turn it off by remote if it tryed to run away from you. It's the only thing I can think of using it for I thought of this because you can't electric start cars under the 80s with out put a electric fuel pump on your tank to prime the fuel line and in Chevy's you can actually here the line prime just before it starts not like back in the old Chevy's pumping the fuel pedal for the truck to start the manual fuel pump to work I'm into working on cars that why I like nitro truck it's built just like a real baja prerunner I also live less than a mile from the beach dunes one of 2 that you can off road on . a savage with paddle tires with rusted sand flying looks just like the sand rails they use racing there it's perty cool specially when kids find out there built the same and it hits them they could build a real one because they under stand the RC truck it awesome to see the looks on there face the second it comes all together in there mind my little cousins have a auto shop now and build full size prerunner I only took them probably 5 time when they were little but got hooked now they host off road events there this is why I like nitro 😉💯👍👌✌️🏎️🏖️🌊🌫️🛠️🍻

I never blow through the pipe from the exhaust to the pipe , you are putting your mouth on a pipe that the car has been ran around grass fields roads whatever, dogs crap on grass and on roads , I use a syringe I pull the pipe off the exhaust fit the syringe and prime that way , if the pipe is in a difficult place I have some fuel tube on the syringe so I can connect it straight to the fuel tank and prime it that way , ok sounds like a fanny on , but I got an infection years ago from working on my car I drive , I worked on it in the lane behind my house , next day I had a pain three days later i could not get out of a chair , I had an infection in my spine that has crippled me for life , I now get around with two sticks and a mobility scooter , please guys be careful use a syringe you can buy them on line or your local chemist\drug store , stay safe guys and girls .
