Because the original was actually made with ai. The VA wasn’t satisfied with his takes, so he decided to use an AI model of his voice over the concept vocals and voila! The song we have today was born!

Said he’d be- Oh! There you are, let’s begin shall we?”, “Wow! I gotta say, you kept pace really well there bud, I knew you had it in you! Just got one question: Do you want To PlAy WiTh Me?!” And “Wow! I gotta say, you kept pace really well there bud, I knew you had it in you! We should do this again sometime! When you’re feeling more UP to it!” And the lyrics in Free-4-Me when you’re in game and not a cutscene (singing) are performed by the AI
That “We should do this again sometime” was flawless
I love how the og could be understood like x is trying to come up with rhymes that make sense and aren't too out of place for sonic on each pause he takes, while this cover makes it look like if sonic purposefully takes pauses and sings slowly for bf to keep up the pace with him, in the end with sonic just ending up bored anyway
Imagine if Roger saw this and commented like, “Wtf?!”
Honestly, I wouldn't blame him. Not everyone is fond of AI voices. Especially VA's.
I love how you can hear how audibly disappointed they made Sonic at the end of the botplay version. Even MORESO with Roger's voice, this is sick.

@henryemily7398 Rodger Craig Smith literally voiced both versions of those characters, so what's your point??😭😭
@@SunBurntTails Well... he does different voice pitches for those versions. Typically his Sonic voice is higher pitched. Meanwhile, his Sonic Frontiers voice is WAY lower pitched compared to that. His Sonic Boom voice is somewhere in the middle, which is what this sounds like.

I was never a fan of songs with bot play in them, like Indie cross's Nightmare songs are supposed to be one of the most challenging songs out there, yet you can just use botplay and skip all that
yet this is better than just removing the botplay option as it gives an illusion to a "real" ending even though its not
Heck, something I would love to see would be when you actually activate botplay, it instead just gives a much harder version of the song that you have to play

They had a actual singer sing it then they had the sonic actor to sing raw vocals took the sample and turned it into a AI to cover the original singer, I looked into the official FLP,
i think sturm said he sang it but he didn't sound anything like sonic so they used ai (don't know if i added anything welp)
i feel like this sounds better than most AI covers because the VA for sonic in the mod sounded a LOT like him.
