You can weatherproof the seams on your tent by making your own seam sealer. 100% silicone, cut with enough alcohol to make it thin enough to brush on. Paintbrush just a bit wider then the seams and just set up the tent and "paint" the seams with the silicone/ alcohol sealer👍👍

Thanks, I got it used at an REI store. It was one hell of a deal, but I had to put a little elbow grease into it!
You can use a tarp underneath your tent that will help keep you dryer. I use a tarp on top of my tent also.
I like the tarp idea, I have mats, but a tarp will give me more room!
@@RoseKnowsTreasure make sure you put it Under the tent. It will be the floor dryer and warmer. convection

I picked up a fly cover at walmart that is large enough to set up over your entire setup. I think it was $29.99 It comes with two legs and everything you need for whatever type of camping you are going to be doing. Without the legs, the fly packs up reasonably small for car camping.
I originally bought it for a hammock rainfly, but have since found many uses for it.

Hi Rose, hey it’s been awhile ! Looks like you’ve got the camping situation pretty much figured out. Like someone else suggested you could cover the whole thing with an inexpensive tarp. You could hold it down with some bungee cords and some half gallon milk jugs filled with water or sand. It’s always handy to have some containers around with water for hand washing & etc.
I sure do miss those Vixen girls ! They were a real hoot !!!
The water jugs are a great idea for weights, thank you!!!! All and all the tarp is deffantly going to be able to fit in the car better, but I sure do hope I can bring my canopy!!!! The Vixens miss the Vixens as well 😞 Angela and I have talked about a magnet fishing video, but just for fun!

Will definitely keep up with this series, got my curiosity up with camping in a Taos (drive one for a company car). Haven't used it for our long trips to WI, The Blonde One packs too much for its capacity vs our Pilot that almost doesn't hold it all! Great info and very thorough so far Ms Rose!
Oh, I hate to break it to you, but other than the gas mileage, im not a big fan of the Taos. I hope I can prove myself wrong! I'm glad you're watching. Maybe it can help with perspective! What year is yours?
@@RoseKnowsTreasure 2023, but again, company car, so agree on the mileage, but not much of a fan other than that either; we have weird system on our cars but....can't get a car with payments this low and put the miles on we usually do (lowest ever & at 57K now @ 1yr old). We'll see how it goes!
