OMG such cute fry 😍🥰 what a great video,I hope I'm as lucky to catch this beautiful precious moment 🥰 you got some great footage,Thank you ever so kindly for sharing this video with us all,I now know for sure that all 3 of my females are most definitely gravid for a start,I'm selling my full shrimp breeding setup (Orange Jili and Orange Sakura Neocaridina/freshwater/tropical shrimp thriving colony of literally hundreds strong, last I counted there were over 40 berried females) because my chronic spinal injuries and nerve damage has left me unable to stand or walk so it's becoming increasingly difficult to care for all of my aquatic friends. I rescued a tank several months ago, along with the many varied aquatic species were 1 male swordtail (he's deep orange/red with a pure black extra long swordtail,he really is stunning) and 2 female neon swordtails plus a female sunset platy that the male swordtail has also impregnated, the largest female neon swordtail began chasing the female platy away from her so I've popped the other gravid female neon and the female sunset platy into a separate planted "birthing tank",they're not far off birthing judging by the sizes of them but the largest female definitely seems the closest, she's such a HUGE female neon swordtail (approx 2inches long) and her tummy is huge and square, weirdly her gravid spot is patchy patterned? could this be the light coloured fry and eyes? I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the swordtail fry and platail 🤷♀️😂 fry from the 3 mothers 😳😱🤦♀️🤷♀️😂 Also did your swordtail fry fit through the water vents at the sides of your hatchery? It looks like the one was struggling to stay inside the hatchery as he looks kinda stuck in the side gaps,it's just that ive got the exact same hatchery from pets at home but if the newborn fry can fit through the gaps in the sides then I'm going to need to set up my tiny 10litre fry tank ready to catch and save the fry, once mums had a day or 2 R&R she can return back into the "small's" community tank and the same will be done with the other 2 remaining gravid fish,or at least that's my plan,Ashley did you get many fry from that one beautiful female? So I'm now on high alert fry watch lol
Ashley - could we use a section of this video to show the process of live birth for the Xiphophorous Genetic Stock Center video we are making for the public?
Hi, i urgently need some help about the fry.. they are one month old and i need to separate them from the small cage inside the big tank.. but do they require a filter if i move them to another tank? There is around 30 fry.. someone help please?
@@MirrimBlackfox ich looks like little bits of sand or salt on the fishes body. You'll also notice that they will try scratch themselves by rubbing against objects in the tank.

Don't they lay eggs or wat.does they give birth directly.plz reply
Swordtails, platty's, Mollies, endlers and guppies are all livebearers and give birth to live fry (baby fish)
Hi, i urgently need some help about the fry.. they are one month old and i need to separate them from the small cage inside the big tank.. but do they require a filter if i move them to another tank? There is around 30 fry.. someone help please?
Every tank needs a filter :)
3:00 giving birth 🤰
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
What is the size of the fish??? In inch...
jm Jm they are the size of a guppy
can mollies and swordtails crossbreed
mikeymouse1985 they can't. Swordtails and platys are in the genus Xiphophorus while Guppies and Mollies are in the genus Poecilia.
Xiphophorus Clemenciae
How many fri did u end up with
+Crystal Peterson 20 fry I think 👍
+Ashley J Wills how did u know she was ready to give birth? I have one that looks identical to yours
She was acting strange, pooing alot more. Soon as I put her in trap she started giving birth.
Crystal Peterson a

+happytroll 247 all stayed alive!
Ashley J Wills good
your mollies have ich
How can you tell? I would like to know what to look for! Thanks.
Mirrim Blackfox Because they have white things on the body
Mirrim Blackfox Little white dots, Can be anywhere on its body
@@1Kamalmalik that is ich! You can see the one on the tail is raised. A colour pattern on a fish is never raised.
@@MirrimBlackfox ich looks like little bits of sand or salt on the fishes body. You'll also notice that they will try scratch themselves by rubbing against objects in the tank.
are the fry for sale?
+Maria Kudriavtsev No sorry.

+Jeremy Limkian's CZcams Channel no, it's definitely a swordtail.
Okay! Sorry For My Mistake.
+Jeremy Limkian's CZcams Channel I can see how you think it's a platy, but it's much more bigger than a platy and bought it in shop labeled swordtail.
a swordtail is a type of platty
***** ive read they were bred with platys and molys
Your swordtail have whitespot disease🐠🐠🐠
Edeade this is molly not swordtail.
Your fish some kind of fungal infection
It is guppy’s, why lie?
