That birria pizza, along with everything else, looked delicious. And shoutout to Chime for his Detroit residency. He's been for a while even attending basketball games. I think he's enjoying himself there.
Reason why this food channel is amazing,is cause he's not over dramatic and over done like DAYMN DROPS channel, this dude here is so much better, keep it up man
I always want to go to new food spots but am scared to spend the money and have a bad experience, so I have been appreciating his Detroit reviews. I have already gone to the Bundt cake place and had an amazing experience. I definitely plan to check out a few of the other places that he's tried.
southwest detroit is called 'mexican town'. we also have greek town. but yeah, theres a lot of mexicans living there.. so pretty authentic food. theres also a decent place called 'mexican fiesta', in dearborn heights.
@@GonnaGetYouBoi thanks for the recommendation :) I have a lot of friends that I visit in Dearborn (spoiler I’m Arab lol) so I’ll have to give it a shot next time I’m in town. I also didn’t know about the “Mexican town” part I’ll have to check it out too, I love Mexican food.
MCT- If you like it in the D during winter, you'll love it here in the summer! Beaches at St. Claire/Lower Huron/Kensington/Stony Brook Metroparks, blue water beaches in Port Huron, Hart Plaza festivals, Belle Isle, Riverwalk, Campus Martius and Detroit Street Eats w 75 food trucks, Main St. stroll in Royal Oak, Arts Beats & Eats festival, Freedom Festival, The Detroit Grand Prix, the Independence Day Fireworks, and headlining Jazz, R&B, Hiphop concerts. In the winter there is ice skating and downhill skiing at Mt. Holly, Meadowbrook, and Brighton. There is so much to try here if you are new to the area. Even horse racing at Northville Downs and 3 Casinos if you're into gambling.
I really enjoy your food reviews. Instead of some other channels that automatically praise e WTH single place they eat at you keep it real so I can trust what you’re saying. Wishing you nothing but the best in the new year.❤
Here’s a handful of spots you should check out, idk some of these spots you’ve been going to but here are some of my favs: -Pho Lucky (Midtown) Vietnamese, make sure you order a pork Banh Mi! -El Barzon (Southwest) Mexican & Italian/very cool owners and story -Hamido (Dearborn) The best Arabic food in the STATES. Must try the meat shawarma! -Taqueria El Rey (Southwest) taco food truck -Shangrila (Midtown) Great Chinese spot -Marge’s Bar and Grille (Grosse Pointe) one of the best burgers in town -Mack Avenue Grille (Grosse Pointe) great breakfast spot -Mitsos (Eastern Market) coming from a Greek, this spot has better gyros and greek food than Pegasus, which is one of the more well known spots in Greek Town. -Harry’s (Downtown, stadium district) great chicken sandwich -Astoria (Downtown & Royal Oak) Great ice cream, bakery, and desserts. -Bommaritos (Grosse Pointe Woods) the best Italian sub in the city, old school Italian bakery/deli Love the videos man, reach out if you have any questions, it’s great what you’re doing for exposure and helping these mom & pop businesses, mad respect.
Tortas Ahogadas (ah-o-god-ahs) are absolutely amazing! That combo of tortas, ceviche, and bírria is the ultimate surf and turf meal. I guess I'll be making my way to Detroit shortly.
Places you still gotta try: Ima and Johnny Noodle King for Ramen Lockharts and Bad Bradz for BBQ Supinos Pizza (NY style) The Bronx Bar for their burger Takoi for Thai (best fried chicken sandwich ever made)
Mr. ChimeTime, both birria and tortas ahogadas come from the State of Jalisco, you should visit. Tortas ahogadas literally translate to drowned tortas. A fully drowned torta is drowned in hot sauce but you can also get one drowned in a tomato sauce and add the chili later. The meat inside are carnitas btw.
I will like to inform you, Mr. chime. ceviche is always marinated in lime juice. The citrus from the lime is what cooks it and also makes it safe to eat. But nevertheless, I watch all your videos. I love them. 👍
Glad you are enjoying the city and found some Mexican Food, fyi though, they dip the tortilla in either chipotle oil or arbol oil, or whatever pepper or chili they use, if you dip it in consommé and place it in the grill it will burn.
Ok since you are in Southwest Detroit, go to the Mexican Town Restaurant on Bagley. The Fautas and the Chicken Enchiladas Suisas with Tomatillo Sauce is soooo good. Ask for Sour cream. I used to go there for special occasions and my Birthday. You will like it. Its my favorite mexican restaurant. - Shantel
I don't see how people can watch Keith Lee after seeing this channel.... no disrespect to Keith, but seriously.m The ability to describe the food is seriously impressive.
I have lived here all my life I know all the food spots.. for what they are known for... Sweetwater use to be good about 7 urs ago... been down hill from there!
I need to stop looking at video with headphones 😂😂😂 waiting oil change & hit video everyone turn look at me😂😂😂😂 im like it’s Me.Chimetime food review, food critic man people look me like yeah whatever 😂😂🤣🤣😭😭 damn
Hey bro... pls try Gloria's kitchen in detroit ...on livernois and 94 fwy... yeah it's in a BP gas station but the tacos are flour.. I recommend flour...el pastor... but try some of everything... they don't speak much English....bur we appreciate you for putting our food on...
Yo you trying a torta ahogada is as Mexican as it gets it originates from the state of Jalisco it translates to “Drowned torta” if you don’t want it that spicy ask for the spicy sauce on the side. They’ll still drown it in a tomato based salsa which doesn’t have spice, the bread should always be sourdough. You should try and find some Carne en su Jugo which is bacon, pieces of steak beans all stewed in a green salsa it’s an absolute delicacy yet so easy to make and as delicious as Mexican food can get.
I'm not from the D from Miami but I love when they say Word up dough I hope I said that right.1 time for BMF 1 time for Trick Trick NOT Trick daddy but TRICK TRICK

As a rule of thumb for Mexican restaurants if they give you cucumbers radish lime or a bag of pickled vegetables.... IT'S GONNA BE VERY GOOD
that consomme was so good he nearly ate his own finger 🤣
