    I went to Laos and Thailand in 2018 with my grandmother (she is now a US citizen, born in northern Laos) and my mom. I was scared to go because I am black AND Asian. Ever since then, it’s been my dream to move to Laos. I loved it so much there. It makes me so happy seeing people pursue my future plan! I wish them nothing but the best during this journey. They definitely make my dream more convincing haha. Both channels just got a new supporter ❤️🙏

      Thank you. Yes they are so loving. Back when chaos ensued in the US during the last election my wife had her friends asking if I was okay and why was it like this. Laos is a country that is usually “looked at last” so they understand what it’s like got black people which makes it so easy to connect and not feel looked down on…if people like they are usually shocked because it’s rare or they’ve never seen a blank person before. To me that’s totally different than looking in disgust or fear

    Thanks for a great video; good conversation. I visited Lao, my birth country a couple of months ago since I left 44 years ago. I know how the westerners spelled Laos, but I’m dropping the “S” and pronounce it correctly per my native tongue; same thing with Vieng Chan. Anyway, together with my Cambodian American husband, we also visited his birth country in 44 years since he left, just like me. OMG, compare to Cambodia we fell IN LOVE with Lao ❤️😍💕. We love the slower pace of lif 21:57 e and the chilled attitude of Khon Lao. So, we’ll choose Lao over Cambodia when the time comes. Right now still have to send two children to college 1st, which would be in 15 years. Since we came back we have been day dreaming about retiring there, and looking forward to make Lao & Cambodia our yearly trip now.
    Happy New Year 🎊🎆

    It’s great for a young people to do what you guys are doing. But for old folks, you have to think about your health as well. Medical care in Laos or Thailand is on cash only. It isn’t cheap. No cash, no treatment.

    • @blasiantravelerss
      @blasiantravelerss Před 4 měsíci

      It is very much so cheap. Old doesn’t also mean unhealthy, if you’re unhealthy you should provably work on that as best you can before moving…but even then for example you can get a luxury check up with bloodwork in Bangkok and spa services for $150 in the USA that will run you maybe $1000. LASIK a few hundred bucks. A days hospital stay for under $100 per day with no insurance, without surgery and with medicine being another $100 or so
