    That is one of the sharpest and cleanest '87 Monte SS's that I have seen in a long time. Well worth the money!

    That's a sweet looking, running, and riding g body man. Someone has taken good care of her. Get a front end alignment and drive it! I own an 87 so I speak from first hand knowledge. Whoever bought this one, made a great choice.

    The spider webbing was pretty common on the poly bumpers back then. Loved these SS's back in the day. A re paint and it would be perfect. Good job Nick. 👍

    Good, neat, wonderful G body sample you show here, Nick. I became a real G models fan many years ago, reading Popular Mechanics, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, all that stuff about drive testings, and let me tell you folks, this Chevy spells in every corner "USA 1", no doubt about it, for me. I guess the car will found a new home pretty soon. So stunning Monte Carlo, as well are the other counterparts, the Grand Prix, Cutlass, Reagal, and of course the badass Gran National. Cheers.

    Very nice. The tire could be low. That would explain the left drift and tire rub.
    The tire looks ok. So the pull and rub are a mystery.
    Very clean car. Would love to have this one.

    @JackF99 Před 2 lety +3

    It's a very clean body design and what is cool is, because they came with a 180-horsepower 305 it's not going to hurt the value if you do a motor swap.

    • @jamesdeligio2761
      @jamesdeligio2761 Před 2 lety

      lmao are you new? doesnt matter what hp shes got. originality is what makes a car valuable. so yes.... yes it will hurt the value. my friend which is the original owner of his 1988 ss , he got his appraised and because he put true duals he lost 2 grand off the value , let alone a motor

    • @abolishwelfare
      @abolishwelfare Před 2 lety

      @@jamesdeligio2761 perhaps, if it’s a very, very low mile original car. My ‘85 has well over 100,000 miles on it. It also has a 454 big block swap that was done correctly. I’ve turned down multiple offers that are nearly twice what Nick is asking on this 305 car with 40k miles.

    • @jamesdeligio2761
      @jamesdeligio2761 Před 2 lety

      @@abolishwelfare listen , once you change the originality of the car it loses value end of story. i love all types of cars if its original or custom , but i prefer original. well hey my dads owned a 72 monte carlo for 48 years its blue, original wipers for f sakes 50 000 miles , untouched carbs never been off nothing has been changed, they offered him 100 grand. put 2 cars next to each other custom and untouched , mint .... sorry but the original is worth more. barret jackson gives ppl the idea custom is worth so much when it devalues the car. those guys have too much money lol thats all it is

    • @abolishwelfare
      @abolishwelfare Před 2 lety

      @@jamesdeligio2761 …. You can believe whatever you choose to believe. My reality is, I have a Monte Carlo in very similar condition to this ‘88. My car has been heavily modified, including an engine swap. I’ve received offers to buy it that far exceed the asking price of this “original” car. Either Maple Motors has far undervalued this car, or something else is at play here.
      Monte Carlo SS are not rare. Unless it’s still wearing the window sticker and the plastic over the seats from the dealer, the presence of an anemic original 305 means nothing. We’re not talking about a ‘70 Chevelle LS-6 or a ‘66 Shelby GT350H. Take a 100,000 mile ‘70 Malibu with a 307. Then drop in a 454 and SS badging and stripes. It will sell for more.
      I know all about “numbers matching”. I have a numbers matching ‘59 Corvette. An engine swap would hurt that car’s value because there were less than 10,000 built, and far fewer still survive. They’re are literally 100,000 Monte Carlo SS’s.
      Originality goes hand in hand with rarity. If it’s not rare, hardly anyone cares if it’s original. Every MCSS that rolled off of the line had the same L69 305 HO. Junkyards are full of them. They came in MCSS, Z-28’s, IROC -Z’s, Firebirds and Trans Ams. If you want the numbers to match, simply deck your junkyard block and restamp the numbers. Hit it with a rattle can. Voilà, numbers matching car.
      The reality is, a car is as valuable as the market says it is. My local market says my car is more valuable expressly because of the modifications made.
