  • This video is called “Title Blocks and Format Sheets.” It is the 19th video in the Engineering Design, Modeling and Graphics series, and is brought to you by www.cadmodelinghub.com/. This video instructs new and aspiring mechanical engineers, aerospace engineers, and automotive engineers on the proper procedures for using and completing drawing format sheet and title blocks. It is the accurate completion of the title block that makes the drawing a binding contract between the engineer and the manufacturer. This video introduces ASME A-size through J-size or ISO A4 through A0 template format sheets. It also provide basic instructions on how to correctly fill out and complete a generic engineering title block. Previous videos provided instructions on how to add drawing views, dimensions, and notes and annotations to a drawing template or format sheet to make a complete and valid working drawing. The serious student will use this and other video lectures, in conjunction with their reference text to study more on drawing sheets and templates as defined and controlled by the ASME and ISO standards. Remember it is the subject and correct use of Computer-aided Design (CAD), sometimes referred to as 3D CAD, that allows the creation of good, reusable engineering design models and drawings. This video introduces how to complete an engineering drawing title block.

FYI per ASME 14.1 the arrows at the mid points are for centering the drawing for creating microfilm or microfishe. The name/logo per ASME 14.1 goes where you show the company address.
Per ASME Y14.1 the third angle projection is supposed to be inside of a specific size box with text just below the box starting "Third angle projection".
The UOM goes inside of the tolerance block above the third angle projection block per ASME Y14.1.
Full Company address is only required when there is no DAI aka cage code listed.
All text in drawings including title blocks should be in all caps. The exception to this if for when you show UOM.
Letter zones start in the lower right corner with A on the horizontal axis and 1 on the vertical axis and increment up to the left and upward. This is per ASME Y14.1.

Awesome, I needed this. Thanks for the upload! Question, in 1:48 you mention the grid reference system. Is there a standard as to what the grid size should be or is the grid based on the drawing?
