    Lucky kid for being able to build and play with such an awesome machine at a young age. Hope he brings his passion as he grows up.

    The world needs more dad's like you. I spent every winter(he had winters off) in the garage wrenching with my dad until he passed away when I was 14. He taught me everything I know that I now use to put food on the table and smiles on my kids faces. Now I do the same with my son and daughter as much as possible. Would give anything to spend 5 more minutes working away with him. The hell with anyone who says anything negative about your videos. I guarantee they ignore there kids and buys them thing just to keep them out of their hair.

      Thank you Jason for sharing your thoughts and supporting our builds. I'm trying to teach my kid new skills while spending quality time with him. Hopefully it will keep him busy and out of trouble. Have a blessed day and best of luck to you and your family.

      Tone Loc Baca This one does go 40... The rear sprocket is too big that's why.

    • @Jack-jr9ke
      @Jack-jr9ke Před 3 lety

      The engine is heavily restricted aswell as it had a governor, to get the best out of it they need 2 open the crankcase and remove the governor. Then obvs they could go down the route of tuning, but a free increase in power is to remove the governor

    This is an awesome little Kart that you and your boy built TOGETHER! I’ll never forget the time when my dad and I built my go kart together 18 years ago. I still have it and will never sell it just remembering all the great memories I had with him every time I look at it. And it will also teach your son to appreciate it much more than just buying a new kart and giving it to him. Good Work!

  • @n_19.86

Check out Honda GX200 grass kart on CZcams and there are a couple of videos of our kart running. Have fun with your kart and future projects.

    I might be wrong but I don't think that's really drifting cuz he's just using the weight of the engine to whip him around

    • @DANKIEONPCINP
      @DANKIEONPCINP Před 8 lety +5

      your correct, he just flings it into corners.... also did you notice what a waste to put such a slow motor on such a nice chassis like they could of easily put a nice two stroke into it

    • @brad5256
      @brad5256 Před 8 lety +1

  • @Jack-jr9ke

    Torque converter not necessary you just need a heavy duty centrifugal clutch this will make the kart much faster or if you have the width then a 2:1 reduction gearbox

  • @quickfactsanimals
    @quickfactsanimals Před 8 lety

    Nice project but it has no safety equipment. Like bars and stuff... But those bars would probably slow the car down. Perhaps you could use rubber instead of iron bars

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  Před 8 lety

      These racing go karts are low to the ground therefore its much harder to flip it. Although I'm sure its possible.

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  Před 8 lety

      Hello Roger.
      its a sweet deal (a steal) for your Dingo. Previous owner probably painted it orange (from a safety standpoint) so that is would stand out and can be seen from far away? Once you finish your kart, it will be a beast. don't forget to buckle up and like others mentioned, maybe do a wheelie bar. Cheers.

  • @RizoProduction
    @RizoProduction Před 8 lety +2

    Did you take the governor out of the engine? Removing it will allow the motor to go up to full throttle and a much higher RPM producing more power.

    • @ExtremeRugburn
      @ExtremeRugburn Před 8 lety +3

      also giving it a higher chance of blowing up.

    • @RizoProduction
      @RizoProduction Před 8 lety +1

      Extreme Burnout If the motor is properly kept, it wont. Topped off fluids, clean gas, etc. As long as theirs no knock, and the motor wasnt made in china, the likely hood of an internal failure is highly unlikely.

    • @mitchfulker7372
      @mitchfulker7372 Před 8 lety +1

      +RizoProduction also ruins the warranty.

    • @barnsnoble7066
      @barnsnoble7066 Před 8 lety

      +RizoProduction most of these motors are made in China, but even the Honda and Briggs motors will still throw rods and break flywheels if you rev them too high without a governor

      Спасибо за поддержку и за вдохновительные слова. В этот раз решил схалтурить и даже не красил ни чего. Карт будет использоваться и в хвост и в гриву. Собрал из очередного хлама. Мотор дёшево купил за $100. Мужик который продал его мне, он покупал чтобы тоже собрать карт с сыном но так и не получилось. Вся фигня обошлась в 600 долларов. Может быть тебе удастся приехать к нам, только в нашем колхозе скучно и нечем заняться так вот и собираем всякую хрень. Можно было бы смотаться в сан Франциско по близости а так для развлечения это надо ехать в лос анджелос. Хотел бы посмотреть на твой байк когда собираешь. Сколько у него будет кубиков?

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  Před 6 lety

      Project DIY
      Any chain will stretch over time and will need to be replaced. I usually buy a box of 10ft roller chain under $20 and that should be plenty, enough for 3 replacements. As far as I know go kart racing teams use #35 chain and many of their clutches are set up for that chain. I do prefer #40/41 chain because it got higher tensile strength but I guess to each its own. Thanks for watching.

      Hello Kade
      We used to have a Yerf Dog go kart before. It was a two seater and it was too bulky to fit in our van so we sold it. It was a heavy kart as well so for now we like to goof off on our mini bikes tearing up the trails. Thanks bud. 👍

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  Před 8 lety +1

      No sir, we haven't tweaked the motor yet. I bet if we remove the governor, re-jet the carb and get a different air filter then it might add couple of horses to this kart.

    • @anthonymarin584
      @anthonymarin584 Před 8 lety

      +balabay77 you have to be careful with the governor, with the high rpms it can crack the rod in half and if your flywheel is plastic it will destroy itself from the high rpms. If you do end up removing the governor I recommend a Billet flywheel and rod so your engine won't end up breaking. oh and you should make a exhaust pipe (straight pipe) from steel tubing. Nice job on the go kart by the way, I like it very much. Keep up the good work.

      I tell my kid to keep both hands on the steering wheel to avoid burns. I will get another exhaust for it. So far we haven't done anything to it yet. We need to remove the governor, re-jet the carb and get another air filter for it. Racing kits are kind of pricey so for now we will do inexpensive stuff to it first. Maybe in the near future i'll look for better quality flywheel, rockers, springs and another carb. Cheers.
