I was lucky enough to be at Headingley for the Stokes innings. We were sitting pretty much opposite the cover boundary that he hit the winning shot to - if I close my eyes I can still hear the sound of bat on ball, can see it speeding to the fence and I can still hear the whole place exploding with noise around me. Will remember it for the rest of my life - what a player, what an innings, what a day.

Good list. Im particularly pleased at the inclusion of Harmisons slower ball. I dont think ive seen a better ball bowled by a fast bowler in the context of the match situation.
I was watching that with my late Dad. As soon as it hit the wicket he said "Slower ball". Both Yorkshiremen but while my old man was cricket through and through (I've still got his Wisden and Truman testimonial programme) I'd never been interested in cricket until that 2005 Ashes. We watched a lot of it together. Never not been interested in it since. Rest in peace my old Dad 1940-2018.

2005 Oh! God, what an era was that. Sachin, Saurav, Sehwag, Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist, Naseer Hussain, and so on. What an era, I am lucky that I've witnessed all of these on television. Thanks to god that no smartphone was invented in that time. We enjoyed a lot of cricket on TV as well as in playing ground.
I still get goosebumps watching that over from Flintoff. Same with Ben Stokes innings.
