You are one awesome momma. Without a doubt God knew why you would be the one to care for the angel he sent you. I'm also a special needs mom, and I started watching dollar tree hauls when I need a little escape. Thank you for making the time to educate others and bring joy to us through your DT videos. You rock!!

Hello Clara! I am a newer subscriber. I can't begin to tell you how much I admire you! You're a wonderful nurse mama to your baby girl! I am a nurse in a nursing home and I have had tube fed patients and have administered meds thru g-tubes many times. I really enjoyed watching your setup and routine. Thank you for sharing!!

This video is helpful. I just got a g tube on April sixth this year and I have the enteralite infinity pump too. No one taught me that I needed to get air out of the bag. I prime through the machine. Now I know how to manually prime if I need to. I only get fed overnight. I have been a subscriber for a while and I am glad that I have this video as a reference. My bags are much bigger but I am an adult so my feeds are much bigger.

Thanks for sharing. My daughter is 100% tube fed with the Infinity pump too. She is turning two in June and has thrived on a blended real food diet through tube. Have you ever heard of that before? We were on Elecare too and not only did she not tolerate but I didn't care for the ingredients. Thanks again, our equipment fills our cabinets too!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve been priming my sons pump the slow way with the machine for 5+ years. I never knew I could do it fast like the kangaroo pump does. THANKYOU!!! I would also love to know how to turn on the infinite feed option thanks. 💖

You are amazing Clara! I always wanted to make a video like this about my son. He had severe cerebral palsy and he was 37. He passed away on December 3rd, 2014. He was on the machine for tube feeding because he would only tolerate a slow drip. I am so proud to know that there are other moms out there that are dedicated to taking good care . His rate was only 60 , so you know it took some time. How often do you flush? Do you have the skin protector around her tube to protect her skin? Sounds like you really are doing a great job. God Bless You And the Baby Always.....

Thank you for sharing. At first when I read the title, I wasn't sure if I had read it correctly so I kept on reading it. I realized I did that because of my experience. I decided to watch & when I did, I fast-forwarded on some of it. It just reminded me of when my grandmother had cancer & had 2 b fed with a feeding tube in her abdomen. The memory is still painful after all of these yrs (since I was the 1 doing it 4 her). You're a strong woman for being able to show everyone this part of your life. Your daughter looks & sounds like a sweetheart and I'm sure she is. :-) Thank you once again & GOD bless you all. I pray this will not be permanent.

vivoyeur Thank you so much for your kind words and sharing your experience. I hope my video didn't make you too upset...the ones we love who pass on never really leave us, do they? In a way, even though it's painful that they are gone, sometimes I think that's nice to know...that their memory lives on. The tough part for me sometimes is to try to remember the best of times that I had with that person, instead of the hardships...I'm sure that is what they would want me/us to do. I'm sorry that your grandmother went through that at the end of her life....but am glad that you were there to help her. Sending prayers right back to you for healing and light xoxox

Thank you so much. That's kind of you. No, your video didn't upset me. I was just touched and empathized with what you and your baby has to go through. It then just brought back memories for me. It's good to know that when needed, others are or have gone through the same things and therefore we aren't alone. Be blessed and stay strong. :-)

Thank you very much for the video I was looking though your vidieos and I didn't see it so if you are ok with it chould you do a video on why your daughter is tube fed and on meds only if you want to I fully understand that it is your life and you only have to share what you are willing. I'm just wondering because I have never seen anything like this before and again I thank you from the bottom of my soul for sharing. I'm a long time subbie and love your videos.

Hi Clara Slate, when you say you "change the feeding bag everyday", do you mean, you use an entirely new bag for everyday- meaning 7 bags per week, or do you mean you wash them everyday and re-use them, and if so for how long ?
    Thanks,
I'm trying to get this down-pact for my son when he is to start his tube feeding.

    • @claraslate

To Darcell Davis - Hello Darcell,
My apologies for making a separate comment, but I think your settings on your comment are set so that I am not able to respond directly. :)
Just wanted to say that I am so sorry to hear about your son's passing. I cannot imagine all that he went through and the hard work you did to care for him. I imagine that he was on TPN as well. If you do decide to do a video (which I hope you do), I think it would still be helpful...even just sharing the experience is helpful, both for people watching and for yourself....to feel good in helping, yes, but also in continuing to find peace and healing for yourself. Sending you so much love, light, and prayers.
In response to your question, though - since we are on continuous feeds and giving meds 2-3x a day, we don't flush...but, if our formula goes to a higher concentration or if we start incorporating solids (pureed) into the feed, then we'd definitely flush more.
