It's Saturday 18 February 1984 at Het Paard. I travelled from the UK for this and the Eindhoven gig the night before and Haarlem the next night. Simon Raymonde's first tour. The Cocteaus at their very best. A weekend that I will never forget
holy-GOD! THIS IS FANTASTIC AUDIO! I was expecting it to be a bit raspy and muffled from looking at the video quality, oh my god it sounds like the STUDIO RECORDING! FANTASTIC! best live version!
I recorded this video. 4AD gave me a bunch of records as a reward for a copy. So glad this brilliant performance did not get lost. Thanks for posting this. Whoever did it.
@@TravisBickle1963 Yes. But the gig only lasted 20 minutes. Elizabeth Fraser had a tough emotional evening for some reason unknown to me. I copied the tape for them directly after the gig. I don´t have a copy or the original myself. I left the original in the archives of het Paard van Troje.
@@edmaenhout9184 that was the Paard gig the previous year. This was Saturday 18 February 1984 - they played the full set, as they did the previous night in Eindhoven and the next night in Haarlem
@@martinpercival63 Could be. I have not uploaded my video. I still have a copy in the cellar. I did not register the date on CZcams. This take is from the gig in the Paard that only lasted 20 minutes. The other gig in the Paard was not recorded.
@@edmaenhout9184 I remember you offered to show the band the recording from a few months previously and Liz recoiled in horror! I am pretty certain that this is from February 1984. I have photos taken that night and this is what Liz was wearing. The Paard programme listing shown at the start of the video is the one for February 1984.
Hey mate the quality on this is quite decent, great find. I noticed in a comment you made there was more but it's not complete, would love to see that if possible. Also noticed we're having trouble pinning a date on this, I have a feeling it may be some time in 1984..
Amazing! where did you get it? Is strange that my tape of this show does not include "My Love Paramour", and this song wasn't played in 1985, so my guess this is from 1983. Thank you very much!
Well, Simon is there so it must be have been recorded after Feb 1984. Any live stuff in 83 was just the two of em and anything prior to 83 would have had Will on bass.

Thank You To Everyone Who Pointed Out I had The Wrong Song Title, Not Sure About The Date Maybe 11.11.83?
I m not sure but Robin bought his first Fender Jazzmaster in 84

Vocals, drums, guitar, bass: everything is on point.
Wow, what a force of nature they were back then. Love this

Did you record the complete performance? This one seems a bit short?

Really belting it out, almost like a soul feel
excellent, never seen this one live thanks for posting.
Bloody love the Cocteau's
Wow! Awesome. Never seen this gig before. This is one of the first CTs songs I heard (about 1985)
esta Diosa me hace dar escalofríos...Liz Fraser , por siempre!
Best combo of beauty/tension in their catalogue.
Remarkable all around
What a treat
That funny thing she used to do with her fingers! She looks confident performing here!

Great footage! Song is called ‘My Love Paramour’
according to SetList, they didn't play "My Love Paramour" in the 1985 concert.
Maybe in 1984 or 1983 !
I keep coming back to it, this is wonderful, with an excellent sound quality. Any chances that there exist other songs filmed from this concert ?
Yes but it's not complete, unfortunately

This is the best bands that two women created
Two women?
So many people think Robyn is a woman lol
Possibly February 1984
looks around '83 or that going by their hair!
not the spangle maker but good none the less
This Is pure gold, where did you get this?
