Corn Dogs

  • A sausage on a stick that has been coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter and deep fried - easy weekend snack!
    Ingredients:
    Family All-Purpose Flour - 240g
    Cornmeal - 180g
    Baking Powder - 2 tsp
    Baking Soda - 1 tsp
    Refined Sugar - 90g
    Ground Black Pepper - 1 tsp
    Iodized Salt - 2 tsp
    Fresh Milk - 340 ml
    Whole Eggs - 3 pcs
    Hotdogs in Skewers - 20 pcs
    Vegetable oil for frying
    Cooking Instructions:
    1. Sift Family All-Purpose Flour, cornmeal, baking powder and baking soda together. Add in sugar, black pepper and salt.
    2. In another bowl, whisk together milk and eggs.
    3. Whisk wet and dry ingredients together. The mixture should be somewhat thick to cling to the hotdogs.
    4. Transfer this mixture to a tall glass or container.
    5. Heat up oil to low to medium heat. Dip each hotdog into the batter and straight into the oil. Fry for 4-5 minutes to
    make sure all the batter is cooked through.
    6. Drain on paper towels and serve with ketchup and/or mustard.
