I love the merkava’s purely for how modern their design is. They aren’t made too expensive yet provide EXCELENT protecion for the crew. They went with design over material quality and it shows. Whilst the conpesites of the Merkava tend to shatter when hit, the amount of force those things absorb is nuts. To add, whilst the armour does break quite alot, it’s also easily replaced and easily repaired, making them extremly efficient.
What’s crazy is the merks could have sooo much better armor.

A whole while back i played a game called “Armored Warfare” and whilst that game couldn’t keep me intrested i remember having a argument with a M1A fanboi about how the Merkava was dogshit compared to the Muhbrams, and he showed a picture of a rather intact M1A2 with a penetration hole in it’s turret cheek on a flatbed and a heavily damaged Merk where the composite on it’s cheek got completley obliterated… i used common sense and pointed out that the Merk was still running, and the Abrahms was being towed away on a flatbed, pointing out the Abrahms most likely got penned and suffered internal damage, and the Merk whilst damaged on the outside probally didnt get penned at all and was still running.
Actually got me more intrested in the tank and i started apreciating how well it’s designed, we Westerners could learn from that
@@last_dutch_hero258 Merkavas are better protected against chemical energy rounds. Of course the protection differs between its variants. Protection against kinetic energy munitions was improved for Mk.3 and Mk.4, if I recall correct.

I got the Mk. 2D last time it was on sale and it has served me well... sorta.
Got VRCC and Somua SM yesterday. Already had Rooikat 105 it's a great vehicle. Merkava seems weak at 9.7 way too slow and that frontal engine only going to create more spalls to kill your crew.
ZTZ and Leo on sale May 23 but not this time. Also BR 9.3 is only 10.3 food, in my opinion

Have had merk mk2D for a while now. Its a great vehicle! U just need to learn how it plays and play around its weaknesses. I can go cqb with it with great success also u can snipe with it with ease. Mostly your success depends on the team just like any other vehicle.
I just got the merkava MK2D and its cool, but its got some issues..
First off, it needs the M426 shell that the gal batash uses at 9.3
Second of all, it needs to be downtiered to 9.3, with the MK1B and 2B going to 9.0, matching the american merkava br.
Third of all, the Merkava MK2D is missing its LAHAT barrel fired ATGM, which is also missing in the MK3's and 4's
Not to mention so many 1 hit wonders in that area.
Centauro might be worth considering if they added the 2a7+hu
Italy should get 2A8 since they ordered them in February 2024 for 8.5 billion EUR
I love the Khalid so getting the rooikat before it left sale was a no brainer
tiger 2 isnt bad same as the one in the tree i have both and run both. i picked up the harrier. nice to toss 2 250lb bombs before the merge to hit a random aa or pillbox for an extra 800sl and rp or double if you get 2 and im averaging 2 kills a game 18g missiles are nice at the br.
Tiger II Sla 16, has a different engine its a diesel Engine but doesn't make too much off difference

Merkava Mk 2D is very enjoyable vehicle. It was my first modern premium tank and never regret purchase.

Well out of 3, i have the VRCC and the Merky, can't care for the Rooikat.
Too bad for all of them, VRCC has fallen under the OF40 MTCA treatment.
Merky should have received the M426 (DM63) while being raised at 9.7, while being retired IRL in 2016, it has a shell older than the Magach variants that were retired earlier than Mk2D...(even worse, there was another shell in IDF index for the Sharir cannon, the Sword APFSDS but we know how is the Snail doing about giving "historical ammunition"...).
Now with rank 7 prems i doubt they bother to add another Premium while removing these. At least not for us (Italy) and Israel.
I think Im gonna get the Merkava just for that great custom skin that changes the Tarp for a flag
Just bought the Merkava without too much thought, and found out at 9.7 it’s getting penned by every APFSDS from every possible angle. And the front engine only there to creates more sprawling so you die easier. 😂

the vehicle purchasing via GC vs with GE is such a scam... *stares in them taking the Rooivalk (50GC) off of the market a few weeks before the October sales and only bringing it back ~after new year~ as a 9k GE vehicle... aka 50GC worth of GE but without the 2000 GE/week of prem time it'd get you instead (and they only brought it back after the sales were over so folks couldn't get it discounted)
They say they are gonna go away but Gaijin ALWAYS brings the things back and not even far away from now I bet you will see them 3 vehicles on the GE purchase line

What I like about sales and no one is talking about is gaijin market place. Price is getting down , you get some vehicles , keep them for a while and there is at least 200 GC in profit. Keep that in a loope and you wont spent a dime in near future 😉

@@ducktesBoth are pretty great tanks. But it also comes down to play style. I’ve got both tanks and I’m more of an aggressive player than a sniper so I usually play better and get more kills with the Christian than the CV90105. Also not to mention the really weak armor of the CV

Interesting how justin says the 2d is the better premium merkava. I thought the general senses was the raam segol is the better investment and the better premium choice with its better round and better engine performance.
Thanks a lot, Mk2D has a 105mm gun armed with the M413 (DM33), the Raam is a Mk3D with MG251 120mm gun armed with M322 (comparable to the US M829A1).
The Mk2D should have received the M426 (DM63) while being raised to 9.7, since it was retired in 2016 while Magach variants were retired earlier and both Gal Batash and 7C use the M426 in-game.
Out of the two i still prefer the Mk2D, the Raam was just a pathetic excuse to add the Mk3D without adding it to the TT while is still around as event vehicle for US.

I also think the Challenger 1 is much more aesthetically better looking that the Chally 2 and 3, but hey, I am no engineer so I guess there has to be a reason behind Challenger 2's ugly looks.

if the tanks/planes your referring too was under 3 MAJOR patches old, then they wont be on a sale. gaijin dosnt put prems on sale for the first 9-11 months after they are launched.

Raam segal is much better than the 2D. Its at a muuuuch better spot at 11 over the 2d at 9.7. The ram has the round to have no issue at 11.7 at all ive gotten a nuke with it at 11.7 uptier. It also gets downtiers alot considering the 10.0 and 10.3 hotspot. Its far better. The comment justin made about it being worse than the 2d is horribly wrong
Merkava Mks are the same going from Mk1 to Mk4M.
These are second line/support tanks more than frontline ones; you do far better in such role while allies handle the first actions.
I had nukes with every of them before BR changes, shell being added and reload buff, it's simply as that even while be in an upper tier.
The Mk2D is still valuable as are the M1, Leo 2 and such, it should just have the M426 while the Magachs received it and being 9.3 tanks (those were retired earlier than the Merkava, which was still around in 2016...).
The Raam requires already too much experience on how top tier matches are to be play, the lowest game you can go is 10.0 where it's already a nightmare to handle for who's buying such tank without any experience at such BR.
Same for the Mk2D but it can forgive the user while a rare 8.7-9.0 match pops out, the worst that can happen is facing 10.3 stuff and the much more rare 10.7 (which iirc only China now has them).
In my experience, Mk3s were best used if you already knew how Merkava is used, saw too many complaing on how they struggled with them, when i had a fair positive experience (a solid K/D ratio of 3, thanks to being such a situational tank, less than the Strv-103 tho which i also used a lot...maybe that helped)
@@Sh-epard I think the entire point is that the Merkava Mk3 have a better reload and actual line up. Plus the 11.0 matchmaker will let you face more downtiers as evident by how often 11.0 US/Japan faces down tier(I dont play israel 11.0). Having the uptier 9.3 lineup to have something to back up the 2D is just not worth it. Plus the RAAM lets you research top tier unlike the 2d.
Yeah the Segol has a great round for 11.0 probably gonna be a future pickup as I’m not too fond of the 9.7 Mk 2

Cos no one likes console pleebs. Also gaijin cant put things on sale on consoles as often, since those stores charge them 30% per sale, unlike thier own website(on pc). Aka, you only get few sales on consoles, and they are generally gonna be worse. Deal with it, its the downside of being a console pleeb and having to bow down under your MS/Sony overlords, they give you cheap hardware, but overcharge for the software and services(think of it, they gotta earn in the difference/losses somehow).
For me, the Merkava Mk.2D was one of my better grind tanks. Once I got used to getting one-shot killed from time to time, I ajusted my playstyle, got less agressive with it and the K/D ratio got better over time 😅 Once I reached the Mk.1B and Mk.2B variants, the experiance got even more awesome 😁
... hated the Sho't Kal Dalet though. Now that one should get deleted and not the Mk.2D 😁
These sales aren't too special since there's not much going on but here's the best packs you can get from them and these are my picks (not in particular order)
1. Turm III, a much better Leopard 1 which is fully stabilized and even has a 30mm coaxial which will easy deal with a lot of things and it's something that will help you get from start to rank 6 but will also be something you'll be playing even after you're done grinding because it's a really good sl farmer so overall very good long term investment.
2. VRCC, basically a Centauro ROMOR with better thermals, no era but has smokes, it's only drawback is that you don't have many things to play it with but you can easily use it in your 10.0/10.3 line-up and it will do just fine up there, DM33 is a really good shell and with the recent spall changes even in a full up-tier you will be doing very good oh and obviously great replay value.
3. Rooikat 105, it's the best wheeled vehicle Britain has so hurry up and get it while you still can, great line-up and definitely has replay value.
4. T-29, great heavy tank, really strong line-up incredible firepower, definitely worth looking into but mid-tier ain't for me so whatever works for you I guess.
5. King Tiger pack, another incredible heavy, strong line-up, is a bit faster than the Tiger 2 H and it has decent protection.
Additional note: Merkava Mk.2D is an okay tank but with the arrival of the Raam Segol it's not worth purchasing, wait for Novemember sales and pick up the Raam Segol, it's so much better in every way you can thinking of and it's something you could be playing forever.
Raam wont be going on sale until next year it was only introduced this patch.

Raam will go on sale for the Anniversary sales, we are early in the year and there are still both Summer and Autumn patches, so at least 2 major patches before the sales. That's why not a single rank 7 premium are under sale.

blame the console vendors for overcharging the devs. devs lose 30% of the cut on sales made for xbox/playstation. As in the tech tree one? Not really. It used to be fun when everyone's ATGM's flew well (not just Russia's), but now all American ATGM's are shit except the TOW 2B.

If you are patient and can flank, it can be fun, but it's extremely situational. In urban, no.

Just bought the Merkava. It's sheer PAIN - RU 10.0 is a completely idiotic premium lineup that is just auto-win and you will NOT find lower matches due to how 10.3 is, so prepare to hate yourself and war thunder.
