"He's standing right in front of you."
Stood behind him.
Hobbs looks like he's the stronger of the two and with the size of him it's understandable, Shaw looks like he's the faster and more skilled.
Stannis The Mannis I think a lot of people who know this fight keep forgetting that bit: Size and strength aren't everything in a fight. They're factors, for sure, but being buffer and having more muscle mass than your opponent is never a guarantee for winning. Being faster, having more martial arts and CQC skill and discipline can just as easily procure a win over brawn.
That's not to say Hobbs doesn't have skill himself, of course, since it takes more than simple brute force to get into such elite special forces, but someone as skilled, experienced, deadly and swift as Shaw easily has a leg up on him in that regard.
He didn't select 'eject' before pulling out that flashdrive.... *what a bad man.*

A martial artist vs. a wrestler? My prayers have been answered!!!
Evan Borton eventually, Statham was a free diver in the past. You should see some of his old tape during Commonwealth Games in the 90s
Don’t know why every single comment I’ve read is along the lines of “Hobbs has power and shaw has speed” or “it’s strength vs technique”. If you clearly watch the fight you can obviously see that at the beginning Hobbs uses his strength to his advantage to take the Early lead but as soon as shaw demonstrates his superior close combat skills, Hobbs immediately adapts and starts to outshine him even in shaws own area of expertise. The only reason shaw had made it out alive was due to his resourcefulness which Hobbs could not have foreseen before hand. But to say Hobbs uses less technique and depends on brute strength is absolutely stupid. Had this fight been in an empty room with no tables, chairs etc. Hobbs would’ve won without too much difficulty. I’d say 6/10 effort.
“It was just one man, and he’s standing right in front of you.”
“So... the computer did it?”
The computer has the high ground since it's standing on top of a table
Girl locker room: Stop wearing my lip gloss

Did anyone else know that the actor who played Shaw was also in Spy with Melissa.
Hobbs is stronger, but Shaw is more resourceful with the stuff around him.
Deckard Shaw was an expert at close quarter combat as his background was from the British Special Air Service. They are known to write the rule books on most forms of survival skills and counter terrorism. The US Delta Force, US Navy SEALS and the Israeli Mossad all learned from SAS according to some historical records. Shaw losing to Toretto in the climatic fight scene of FF7 was horrible IMHO.
I think had no guns interfered, Shaw would have won the fight. Hobbs is much bigger and he's a big guy, his power is understandable, but Shaw looks much faster and quicker.
Hobbs: Strength, Brutality, Durability, Tactical Training, Martial Arts Training.
Shaw: Espionage Training, Tactical Training, Martial Arts Training, Utilizes Environmental Advantage.
Jason is so fast with real power behind his movement even if he’s pulling the punches for a fake fight you can see his muscle tension in every strike it’s why he’s one of my favorite action movie actors
That's why we enjoy him. In a time of actors like Adkins who throw fast tricking kicks to try and sell a fight, Statham is a throwback to the old days of martial arts films where they knew how to make it seem like they were throwing legit blows.
If you like Statham's fight scenes, I strongly recommend Phillip Rhee and Bret Foster.
@@danielhaire6677 Adkins’s fight scenes are way better than Statham’s. Statham doesn’t even look like he knows how to throw a proper punch.

You gotta admit this was pretty damn entertaining....this is why I watch these movies
+Captain America You clearly haven't watched F&F long enough if you think that
I'm not a big fan of the first four F&F films, but these last three that have come out are much better now that they're a well rounded action franchise. I do agree with Kylo that it's a bit lame that they still have those shots of slut's asses and what not. But Dwayne Johnson has been a great edition to this franchise and the fight scenes have been outstanding. I wonder if Diesel and Johnson will ever star in one of the Expendable films. They'd be great.
Creative that's what I love about the last 3. The writers know what we want and they give it to us.
Whoever decided to cast Statham as a villain deserves some kind of medal
Deckard shaw is my favorite character in this franchise . He's badass.
Hobbs: Strength Brutality
Shaw: Martial Arts Speed
Imagine that combined, an unstoppable force that can kick your jaw off in a split second
What I like here is that Hobbs seemed proficient in hand to hand combat but shaw was faster than him
@@abdullahimohammed9158 Back in the early 2000s, The Rock was pretty damn fast.
The reason why did they fight its because the director said this: the winner of the fight gets his hair back.
@ill speedylaunch well I only know that dwayne johnson actually is not bald he cuts his hair really short so that counts
When you look at fights like this vs. any fight with Vin Diesel. My god, you start to appreciate when Vin isn't on screen 🤣
The best part of the Fast and Furious are mostly the supportings. Vin as Toretto has never been part of the best part of his own Fast and Furious movies lol

Dwayne Johnson was actually available for Hobbs and Shaw. If I recall, he was mostly sidelined in F7, because of WWE obligations. Had he been more available for F7, I’m sure he would have walked away from the fall perfectly fine here too.
1:34 VERY impressive camera angle!
Fellow Men Beware The Succubus James wan used a similar one in the beginning of aquaman, and it was just as cool
Watch Aquaman and you’ll be more impressed. It’s the same director and directed these two movies.
The Rock Vs Arnold Schwarzenegger with the body he had in commando. Now that would be a hell of a fight
Christy Rivera the great Khali and the mountain vs Hobbs ana Shaw. Now that just sounds like fast 9 material because overkill.
After an epic, long and drawn out fight Arnold would win. to finish him off he smothers him with an entire roll of christmas wrapping paper, the last thing the rock hears before he blacks out is "Paper beats Rock" in that deep austrian accent we know and love all too well.
1:25 that was an awesome move tho 🤣👌
Major props to Hobbs for trying to shield Dom and his friends by saying he took down Owen
The fight demonstrates the strength of the rock’s wrestling skills and Jason Statham ‘s martial art skills.

Cinemaprince - Honestly, I enjoy reading the fan takes of this fight scene. But I will look forward to the upcoming Hobbs and Shaw movie. Those two know how to generate good action and drama.
I love how Hobbs always complains Shaw was weak for throwing a bomb instead of finishing with his fist but HD grabbed his gun 1st.
@@AlcatrazorGamer To be fair, Shaw used glass to cut Hobs first, so it wasn't really hand to hand after that.

He was fueled by the wrathful vengeance for family. It's a major stat boost

its funny, when i watched this in theaters, can't remember if it was when Hobbs hit the car or when the camera showed he was still breathing and alive, but someone in the audience was like "bullsh*t!"
it was basically brute strength vs. martial arts skills. Though realistically a full on punch from the Rock should've fucked up Shaw but good.

@0:14 I didn’t see/hear that line “I don’t care about your computer” when I watched it (at least, the one I watched) lol
The Hobbs vs Shaw fight was a lot better than FF5 Hobbs vs Toretto fight.
Toretto got the upper hand when he should've lost sure, but the tension in that fight was phenomenal.
Toretto was THE big dog, then Hobbs comes along and puts him in a lock within seconds.
The ONLY factor that gave Dom the W was that wrench, not outfighting Hobbs.
Dom is saved by plot armor, he is a good fighter that is sure, but he shouldn't be able to win against someone who's bigger and know martial arts like Hobbs.
