Given the Switch is region free, I personally love being able to get EU or Asian imports, often for much cheaper than the ESRB copies.
Since I think collecting games with the sole intention of leaving them sealed for 'value' is one of the worst things to ever happen to the physical game market, I will always prioritize being able to get more game for my buck over a copy that is arbitrarily inflated in price.
Lmao, you're countless videos about Astral Chain and how it's in your top ten lists, FINALLY convinced me to buy the physical game early in the day. And lo and behold, another video about the game pops up from you 😆. Thanks a lot!
Something newer collector's should be aware of is that in the past, games reaching over like 30 dollars a few years after its release was very uncommon. I distinctly remember horror games on the ps2 being super cheap (obscure was 30 dollars all day, the silent hills were all under 20 except shattered, even rule of rose was "only" like 75 bones). I personally don't think buying switch games when it is still the current console for like 100 dollars or even 60 is a good idea. Of course SOME games will never drop down, but I think most games will. As collectors, we assume everyone loves to hoard games on a shelf, but that's just not true. The majority of people who play video games do not collect them. When the switch goes out and the next consoles arrive, a lot of these "scarce" games will come back to market. There are literally tens or even hundreds of thousands of a lot of these games in existence. People should not fomo and pay an arm and a leg for switch games unless it really is something special.
Exactly. I was thinking this when he was saying ESRB stuff. If a game has a PAL or Japan version I salivate and jump on it. Way cheaper 😂
I collect games that I play. It has to be on my favorite game ever list for me to buy and not touch. And in that case I buy two copies. Still won't sell unless poor.
Not to mention emulation is going strength to strength with each passing year. If I can’t get my hands on a game, no big deal.
Astral Chain was such a good game. I think it was the best Switch RPG in the UK for a while. The gameplay was so fun and I liked the story and the combat was addicting. If you guys haven't played it I'd highly recommend it. It has a good amount of hours for the main story too

XC2 is the best selling game in the franchise. XC3 was disappointing in sale’s especially since their are way more Switch owners now then there was back in 2017 when XC2 came out

Video Games Plus often requests and has reprints. They currently have Torna and had Xenoblade 2, but it’s not out of stock. I can confirm they are legit with all games being new with ESRB rating (might be Canadian version as they are a Canadian company)

I think triangle strategy is getting rare too, saw it for 49.99 on Amazon

I really like the follow-up on games that you previously covered. I just tried to look for a new Xenoblade 2 the other day and couldn’t even find an eBay copy. Crazy.
Astral Chain was the first game I bought when got my Switch Lite. No way in hell am I ever getting rid of it.
Same with all three Xenoblade games.
I'm actually playing Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes right now. Was actually able to find a copy on Amazon for $15, brand new as well. After that though, it sold out pretty fast. Cheapest you can buy it there is $20 at the least. Actually having a blast just grinding my characters right now and taking my time.
Astral Chain is one of my favorite Switch games ever and I bought it on a whim because I like Platinum games
It’s true about ESRB. I bought trails of cold steel 1 & 2 and they were the European version. Now I have 3 & 4 ESRB. Hope this doesn’t cause issues once I actually start playing the series.
Why would it. It's the same game. If there are differences it be very miniscule. It doesn't matter if you get the ersb or the pegi (EU versions). It's ridiculous that player essence puts fear into people regarding this.
@@user-ob1jz4et9n the clear data off trails 2 affects some of the dialogue in trails 3 right? I’m hoping my ps5 can read the trails 2 clear data for trails 3.
They have one used copy of Astral chain at my local GameStop I might pick it up when I go to get SM RPG tomorrow.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was mind blowing, loved the story and the 115hours I put into it. Cant wait to play the other ones
I have the first one and want to play through the other two before trying out 3. They are massive games regardless 💀

Its in the same class and for some people its even better, taste differs. Imo it has the better world and obviously the better enemys and the latter half of the game is better, it has more rough edges though. It has more edgy humor and some fanservice which can be pro or con, but the game ist fantastic for itself. And part 3 (with its DLC) is better too after playing Xenoblade 2 and Torna. The worst thing of Xenoblade 2 is the tutorial for fighting, i was half through the game until i understood what i was doing, but there are lots of videos on the fighting system.@@ditulliodj
Have fun, they are all great, part 2 will probably stay my favorite even part 3 comes near (they have both pros and cons) just take your time for them and watch videos for the fighting system of part 2, i guess some people ended the game without understanding the possibilities, also you can get lost at a few points in game, just watch a video if it happens. Fantastic series and i can't wait to see where they go with part 4.
I should pay attention to this since Dragon Quest VIII 3DS is over 100 dollars now

I seen alot of copies of World Edition that has the ESRB Rating that the same as a US copies ESRB So that does mean that also a reprint of brand new games hitting the market and inflating it?
The world edition is the UAE middle east version. It's in full English all around the case but it mentions the middle east on back but they have a USA cartridge in them. Luckily alot of th UAE games I have bought have alot of the final revision copy and has all the patchs on the cartridge.

Bruh i remember walking in target one day and seeing that Xenoblade chronicles 2 SPE for like 69.99 i was so mad i didnt just buy the three i seen that day.
I think people look at the fact you can get these games digitally and they won’t be worth anything. But once Nintendo shuts down the store the games are gone. Best example is the 3ds so I always buy physically never buy digital on my switch
I hope you don’t own a Steam Deck or anyone of these gaming PC’s. You can’t play physical on those. 🤡🤣
Astria ascenting do not buy th game is missing like 2gb of data off the cartridge that alone when the network gets shut down may make the game a paper weight...i dont know if it can be played without the day one update.

I got my copy of XC2 Torna from PNP Games. It was the NA version brand new sealed. Awesome store.

This isn’t as big of a deal as it was back in the day as far as a playability standpoint.
You can get things digitally.
The physical is a sort of bonus.
They may not drop in price but that isn’t uncommon for Nintendo games.
I’ve been leaning towards physical and the one I haven’t seen on this is Xenoblade 2
Astral chain is another I haven’t dove into yet.
Astral Chain is highly underrated. Fire Emblem Warriors was one of the first Switch games I bought. Still hoping they make another one like the first.

Got Astral Chain physical. It's an Asian copy. Glad the Switch is region free. My cart collection comes from so many regions. I got MDE, Asian, CHT/Hong Kong, EUR and USA. 😅
I happily own XC2 CE version, but damn it's worth a lot now... It is tempting...
Well I'm looking at GameStop's website and somehow I must have missed the sale for Fire Emblem warriors three hopes because it's still listed $60
Amazon had it for $44.
Even when it was on sale it was sold out within minutes.
Got it for $15 woot! Bayonetta 3 for 29.99 and cereza 29.99 about 2 months ago. They still have great prices.

You think you can make videos like this but just console exclusive only? Some of these games are on Steam and I’d rather get it on there due to no backwards compatibility concerns. From what it looks like in the future, physicals are going to disappear from retail and we’re going to be reliant on the eshop to remain open for console exclusives. I’d much rather get exclusives that can’t be found on PC like xenoblade, astral chain, and the cruel king and the great hero. Just a thought.

What's the difference between a European version of a game and an esrb version?
Nowadays the only difference is the rating in the bottom left corner. Only rarely are there big regional differences anymore. Collectors editions sometimes come with different things in the box also but again the games themselves pretty much no difference.

What you are saying about ESRB and PAL games is not true. As I already told you many times, it's only true for UK games. French games are basically more rare and expensive than US games. We can't find Torna for less than 100€ nowadays. And I'm not talking about the game in brand new condition.

Yeah. I'm based in Japan and sometimes physicals don't drop here. So my collection is full of JP, US, EU, KR, and Asia copies
@@optimize0 exactly. I import from plsyasia so for Asian games with English language. And they work fine. Worrying about if it's the us, EU etc is dumb. Idk why player essence is trying to inflict fear on people. It's stupid. If you want s game you should always buy the cheapest option unless you want only ersb and you are s collector of that region. But majority of us just want to have the games in our collection so we can play them

These are the kinds of videos that try to help gamers, but end up hurting the gaming industry. You get people buying games for future cost possibilities instead of just opening up something to play. Nobody is going to get rich "collecting" sealed games. May as well tell people to invest in a 401k. A $200 inflated game isn't going to pay off your house.

You should tell that to the person who just sold their brand new/sealed Super Mario 64 for 1.2 million dollars at auction.
Sure, it was in pristine condition but that’s the point. It’s bought as an investment.
That game came out in 1996. 28 years later, boom.
And now, physical media isn’t just what it used to be so, it’s literally disappearing. The market is even larger than before so, your chances at making money on something you bought and sat on, are there.
Collectors don’t typically use, play or touch what they collect, it’s meant to just be there, on display, like trophies.
However, I do agree that games should be played so you can just do what I do and buy 2 physical copies.
It might not buy you a house or make you rich but the point is, you never know so, invest if you want and can, if not, just play and enjoy your life 🤓👍
