Black Uhuru-Hey Joe

- With more emphasis than usual on the rock part of 'roots, rock reggae', here is Black Uhuru's version of, "Hey Joe", featuring band member, Frank Stepanek on guitar, and Duckie Simpson on lead vocals.
I'll take the blame for the harsh lighting on this performance. I told the club's lighting man to make sure to give us enough white light. I didn't mean to fry everyone with the spotlight, but alas...was unable to catch and correct this error during the shoot. It still irks me.
Neverthess, this was a great performance by this particular lineup of Black Uhuru: Don Carlos, Garth Dennis and Duckie Simpson, which took place on March 17, 1990 at Bay Street, Sag Harbor New York-one of the nicest venues in the New York area for reggae shows at that time.
The band: Frank Stepanek on guitar, Earl Bagga Walker on bass, Sky Juice on percussion, Marcus Rangatan Smith on drums, Sister Sensi and Azise, on harmony.
Give thanks, as always, to Preston Powell of Bay Street and the Step Lively crew. - Hudba
Always good to see Duckie taking the lead vocals!
Frank on guitar 🔥🔥🔥
Its just amazing that you filmed it. Such a small amout of reggae footage during those days. Especially this line up.
Thank you. Great days!

The lighting looks good, don't worry; the sound is nice also. Thanks for posting this, lovely!
