mother cat is weaning her kittens but kittens r not ready to leave her kitten r scared of mother cat but they stay close to mother this is the saddest part when mother cat wean her kittens i m trying to give them on adoption as soon as possible now

In my opinion Hope is acting depressed. Her kittens don't really need her anymore, instinct tells her it is time to wean them, Coco and Angel are already gone, the others eat and groom themselves. Poor Tom missed his last 2 weeks with Mama because he was sick. Hope knows it is time for them to become independent cats, but doesn't know what to do with herself. If she doesn't see to their proper weaning they will not be able to take care of themselves.
On the other hand, this could be the perfect time for Hope to be spayed. Also, since she is not eating much a vet checkup for her would be good. Wish I could donate to help with the cost. Hopefully others who can donate will give. Thank you for taking such good care of all the kittens and cats.

I don't think Hope is a bad mother. It is instinct with animals. She is full of hormones and probably conflicted herself. I do think she needs spaying. She would be much happier not having to deal with male cats and pregnancy.

Olive is such a girl rolling around for hours primping and cleaning; poor Tom is a mama’s boy he just wants to be close to Hope and have her love him. The gray cat wanders around like “whatever”. I will never forget Tom’s reaction when Hope let another kitten, not her own, nurse off of her 💔💔💔
Something isn’t right here .... I think mom is sick, kittens are way to young for her to wean them off. Also they all look super unkept which she would normally be cleaning them .

It’s not normal for a cat to stop grooming and nursing her kittens while they’re still this tiny. Something’s wrong. She’s probably sick or knows her kittens are sick. They all should be seen by a vet.

Hope may not be feeling well. Their systems gets backed up with hairballs from daily groaming their kittens and themselves causing much discomfort.
It is recommended to put a small amount of hairball remedy or regular vaseline on the tip of their nose or paw so they can lick it. Preferably in between meals.

Cathy Knight we’ve fed and offered shelter to ferals for 2 years. We rescued four, one month old kittens whose momma was struck and killed on our street. We kept the kittens. Recently we trapped a stray ( with some sort of skin condition who was literally starving to death)and a feral momma with her five beautiful kittens and got them to an animal shelter. I wish we could keep them all but we can’t. At least they have a chance now, winter is fast approaching. It took months to get the feral momma to trust me enough to let me pet her.

I came here to try to find a remedy. Although she is spayed now, my Olivia is on her 2nd litter and for the past month or so, she would hiss and growl at the little ones whenever they get close to her. I take it she's trying to wean them, but every few days she lets them nurse again. They're going on 4mths now. Will the aggression ever stop. If someone who could direct me to a video or site that can suggest tips, please do so
The mom cat has to still give them milk and groom them, kittens are still too young, they need their mommy
I think as many people she's in heat again. Please take care of her, if she meets a male it will be a problem. If she'll be pregnant, her health will be bad. 2 pregnancies in a short time will be difficult for, her because she's very tired.
She's safer with the surgery. There's a few things that complicate matters.

@@TheKatarinaGiselle Hi Katarina, he did take Hope to the vet last summer but was advised against spaying because she had a heart condition. She is in a shelter for the winter. Stay well & safe🤗

I don't think this is one of them, shelters etc aren't that common where he is, the nearest being 15-20km away.
I followed since March & he doesn't aggressively solicit donations the way others do altho he has a link on his front page; he does his best to care for the cats & kittens he rescues from what I've seen

It must be very hard for the Baby`s as they clearly Love their Mum to bits. Hope will be eating less because her Milk will be almost dried up now so there is no need for excess fuel. I think there might be something wrong with her. I'm guessing she's a stray. But she's limping and too skinny. Also she's obviously not grooming them, and if u say she's loved doing it before, then the more reason to suspect she's unwell. They are still too young to be weaned. I don't know where you live but maybe the kittens should be taken to a shelter or you could get little bottles and kitten formula and feed them yourself. The white one is not in good shape.

Can you explain why the title of the video say Hope hissing and attaking her kittens and a photo showing Hope opening her mouth as if she is hissing and attaking popey but when we watch the video we saw that she was opening her mouth because she want to sleep..The video show that Hope is in heat but even if she is in heat she never attack her kittens .She can hiss at her kittens if she want to wean them but a mum cat never attack them because she loves them and she know that they need her protection at this age so in nature they stay with her until 3 or 4 months because she learn her kittens how to chase for feeding themselfs.We have seen in the video that she was enjoying her kittens contact when you put them near her.She doent attack them.

I think she’s in pain firstly over her front, right paw. This is causing her a lot of discomfort and agony. I think that’s why she’s slightly miffed with you. Secondly, she probably misses Coco a lot now that he’s adopted and not there. Just continue to help and support Hope and her little, feline family. 🏆

They looked horrible when I saved them, good thing she took them in and they are now getting milk next to her kittens.
My calico learned to ignore and let them raise hell all over my house. She made them a me problem. If your touching her babies, you put your scent on them. Unless she trusts you completely, then usually mom cat is not as protective and ignores them sometimes. Had two adopt a whole litter after my daughter and neighbor found the babies and petted them. Two days later they were crying and starving at my door. Mama hissed if they wanted to nurse. Unfortunately 3 of 4 were sick and didn't make it past a week. My calico is the only survivor. That's why she has me rangle them and carry them to their nest, or comes crying to me to feed them soft food because her milk is dried up.
The same thing happens to me . A mother cat leaves her kitten. But in my case she leaves her kitten after 3 months .
Some stray cats leave early and indoor cats take time to wean them
They look awful. Sickly and lethargic. Need a veterinarian and more calories. You can see it in their eyes. Poor things.

As a man who hv dog for almost my lifetime at first I was kinda baffled with the mother cat, because in dogs mother-kiddo relationship are almost forever. but after havin cat and kitten around for a year I realize, this is the way for the cat species.

Kittens look thin mom may not have enough milk .Mom might be getting worn out trying to survive herself and not getting the right nutriance to breastfeed .It could be wearing her down exhausting her to much .She might be letting her kittens go so she herself can survive,or she might just be weaning them.They do look rather small though.
Kittens got diarrhea because of eating chicken that is why they are thin
