Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

Ramonda represents struggle, resistance, hope and how the song is dedicated to all of us in the moment of the most severe suffering, helplessness, even hopelessness, the moment when Teya Dora prays on her knees is the moment of our facing to death and leaving that praying position to stand upright is the moment when the last a spark of light gives hope and gives us strength to fight. That's why I think that Teya returns to an upright position and gives us that climax of the fight for life. Also, if you go back to the official video, you can see the symbols of the gods Horus and his father Osiris who was brought back from the dead by his wife, Tey's rising from the kneeling position actually indicates that moment, that is, it gives us another hidden mystical deep message about the impermanence of life. That's how I experience this song and that's why it's my number one because it's a full description of the meaning of life and its impermanence.

thats ok, imo if people watch those videos for real, they would not be needed for such unnecessary hate. Sometimes you like the song, sometimes you dont and sometimes in everywhere in between. I just try to keep it real from my perspective. Otherwise how reliable my comments would be? thx for your support!

Each of these ballads has its highs and lows.
For me:
1.serbia: best song out of the 4 but the performer is the weakest.
2.slovenia: great performer and nice song but not on the first listen imo.
3.portugal: song is not bad and performance wise is quite nice. But for me quite forgotten compared to other entries.
4. Great performer and not a bad song- but it's too sleepy for me and I skip it a lot.
If I had to chose two (of the four) to go through, it would be Slovenia and Portugal. I also have an issue with that 'rrrrrrrrrrp' in Veronika. But I like that song as it sits best in my head. The others haven't quite made an impression songwise.

I feel you are right about Portugal. I love a lot ballads, and Eurovision SONG Contest is a lot about these, even if lots of people want to hear upbeat songs !!
Grito by Iolanda is for me is one other issue in the Best sens. It is not really a ballad Like the others, it is something very différent and also Very, very Good I have to say Just because I feel it.

I think Latvia is out and Serbia is in. Not based on any academic knowledge. That leaves Slovenia and Portugal. Personally I'm a big fan of Slovenia and seeing her at DORA I think she's in also. That leaves Portugal. I think there is room for this song but the fact that most people do not speak Portuguese? I'm a bit worried.

Yes that was the word I was looking for : approachable ! The song of Portugal unfortunately is not very approachable. The other 3 are. Everyone performed very well in Madrid though ✨✨✨
The best ballad is Mon Amour but Mr Bors has decided to dislike it since the beginning so he's not ready for this conversation.

What I don't understand is why some of the countries who are probably not qualifying according to the Semi final Odds (Ireland, Latvia, Iceland, Australia for ex. are still higher in the general Final Odds than other supposed qualified countries (Portugal, Poland, Luxembourg). Shouldn't they be more aligned with what's predicted in Semi finals?
those are two different things - in finals, juries and public is voting en mass - much more countries - in semifinals this is limited only to public from half of them. Two different competitions and also 2 different questions. In big odds is about winning chances. In semi odds is about qualifying. There is also big aspect of neighbour voting and diasporas.
They all have amazing voices.
Slovenia is my favorite in this group, she has a great presence on the stage, I love everything about this song.
Serbia is really good, she reminds me of Jenni Vartiainen(famous Finnish singer).
Latvia is ok, he has a great voice but stage presence is lacking and the song sounds like something I heard before.
Portugal is a bit boring for me, it's more an artistic song, strong voice btw.
@@susanafonseca5179 yes, Latvia is too generic. I'm sure Slovenia and Serbia will qualify since they are in the same semifinal with Croatia, people are gonna vote for them.

Four completely uninteresting songs. None of them will take over the charts, none of them will fight for high positions in the final, none of them will be played on radio stations.

Dzanum from Tay Dora was one of the really popular songs last year. She may go with this song too. She was performing in Spain. Study in the USA. you never know where she can go.
