    Turns out it is the degradation of the chrome on the cone that reflects the light into the convex lens....Watch my follow up video to see the disassembly of old headlight assembly that shows actual problem at

    EDIT: 7/9/21 Suarez et, al. v. Nissan North America, Inc., Case No. 3:21-cv-00393 This is the class action lawsuit that has reached a settlement which will compensate past and current owners for past repairs to correct problem as well as free replacement of headlight assemblies and provide additional extended warranties.

    Thanks for the video! Took me 3 hours, going slowly, recording my steps along the way so I remember which bolts go where.
    Everything went smoothly until it came to prying out clips without breaking them. Those suckers are in there. It definitely helps having a second person pulling the bumper off and helping hold the headlight as you remove the electrical cables.

    Thank you for your video. I am not a mechanic, and this helped me so much to remove my bumper and install 2 brand new headlight assemblies on my 2014 Altima. Took me 2 hours. Thanks!

    Thank you for the detailed video! I did step by step. It took me about 3 hours. But I am still not satisfied with light of my headlights. It's not LED, but it's clear enough, but shine seems like steps on the way toward right and not far enough. Maybe headlightsneeded to adjust them!?

    Thanks for the video! Man this cleared up a lot of questions, and yes an auto shop would charge at least an arm and part of the leg to do this job.

    This is very helpful. I am going to try this to save $800+. Thanks. The only steps that worry me are the plastics pieces that you refer to up top (the “bridge” and that other plastic connecting part that you mentioned nearby it). Since I can’t see them in the video, I am just not sure if it will be obvious to me when I go to take it apart? I just dont want something to fall out or I dont put it together right. Other than that, it seems pretty straightforward. Thanks!

      You will be fine...You will see the pieces I am referring to once you get into it...Just take your time...and have a helper particularly for reassembly..

    Do you know size plastic push-clips I would need in case some break? I figured I should order some extras for when I put all those panels back together. I couldn’t find ones for Nissan Altima at the car parts stores.

    • @iflex1963
      @iflex1963  Před 4 lety +1

      They have packets of them at Autozone...If you end up needing any just take whats left of the old one to the store...They dont have to be exact..

    I purchased the headlights on eBay also for $175 with shipping included. My crooked Nissan dealer wanted $400 to replace even though the service manual shows it to be a 2 hour procedure. I am going to try it myself, any chance getting a copy of your noted...thanks for the video and caring for others!

    I hope everyone who replaced their headlights, googled the lawsuit, so they can be updated on when and how to get reimbursements for the headlights. It is time sensitive, they are only allowing until April 22,2022 to file for a reimbursement claim, I believe. And for replacement only 6 mths from the day the settlement is finalized to recieve new headlights.

    And if you have a 2 door the headlights have to be for a 2 door. A 4 door headlight assembly will not work on a 2 door.

      I filed (out of warranty claim) and Nissan said there were no defects, even though I have the same problem at night as most others. Unfortunately I think that's Nissan's way of removing liability and I'm not sure I can do anything more about it

    Please query online -" Rafael Suarez, et. al. v. Nissan North America, Inc." Unfortunately You Tube will not allow me to post the link. This is a class action lawsuit which when it's eventually settled will result in many headlamps from 2013-2018 Nissan Altima's being replaced at no charge. It doesn't matter if you didn't respond by the deadline as stated in the lawsuit as it's still in its infancy and you still can be included to initiate a claim if eligible. You'll know once it's officially settled when the Nissan corporate website known as "Nissan Assist" will list it as a current active campaign. Keep in mind. you may still be able to replace your headlamps at your expense now and potentially be reimbursed later
