Grande Ricardo. Como é maravilhoso ouvi-lo tocar Crumb, onde cada acorde, cada nota, cada silêncio são importantes. E pensar que estamos diante de canções natalinas.

Oh, this is brilliant! Trying to understand exactly how the "Coventry Carol" quote is physically supposed to be played from the score is a bit of a nightmare. Thank you for such a great performance!

Gracias Ricardo! You are the perfect pianist fro the works of George Crumb, whose music I adore. Have you ever met him? I spent years trying to convince Richard Steinitz when he was director of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival to invite Crumb. Eventually he did, when Crumb was 60. I expected to encounter a sombre, introverted person. But he was a Hobbit! Delightfully cheerful, casually dressed in a saaging cardigan, and I would not have been surprised if he had had slippers on his feet. The complete opposite to his music.

Dear Shelly...many thanks for your beautiful words. Crumb's music has always been in my heart and fingers. His compositions (not only for piano solo....I remember the deep impact of Vox Balaenae and An Idyll for the misbegotten, for instance) have always been a crucial point in my career. I never had the chance to meet him personally. Such a pity.

@@RicardoDescalzo His music is so powerful and yet so gentle in essence. Music of and for the soul... Thank YOU for understanding how to play Crumb's music...
