In this video Dagan shows us that we don't have to spend a fortune to get a great sound. This si certainly a cheap electric guitar that professional level players will also enjoy!
This incredibly affordable Epiphone SG custom electric guitar is inspired by the legendary Gibson SG Custom, offering players the chance to get that classic SG custom sound at a fraction of the cost.
You have a classic dual-cutaway solid guitar design which allows you to access the upper frets with ease and make use of the entire fretboard.
The classic Ebony finish has been broken up with white binding on the neck and headstock to really bring the look of the guitar to life.
The Epiphone SG Custom is loaded with a set of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers for that vintage voice in both the Neck and Bridge position. These pickups are very versatile and sound great both clean or with some added distortion.
Finally, a 60's SlimTaper Mahogany neck is comfortable to play and the Epiphone Deluxe with Ivory Plastic Button machine heads offer tuning stability when you need it.

Hey mate! Came back here to tell you that i've bought this one after scraping the last piece's of coin i had. Thank's allot for your reviews...it took me a year to bite the bullet between the sg muse and this model. i've never been any happier! It suits my needs and expectations and i've been scratching it up since the first moment i took it out of the box. I also want to add that i purchased new tuners,bridge,pickups,wiring and pots at the same time. I'm now currently putting those new hardware and electronics in a crap guitar caus this one just delivers what it should do!
I only have one complaint. ITS TOO SHINY. The sound,quality and feel however is immaculate.

Even the old Epi 3 pup white ones are great. Far too many snobs about. I’ve got Gibson’s as well. Apart from some factory setup oddities, the Epiphones have always been great. That can be fixed by a simple setup.
Side note: Squire have lit a fire under themselves now as well. Great news for real guitarists!!

If you want bragging rights and resale value, Gibson's the way to go. Other than that, it's all snake oil. Love my Epiphone so much I don't even want a Gibson anymore. Just more Epiphones. And definitely don't get a low-end Gibson just to say you have a Gibson. Those are a corporate mind game.

I sold an Epiphone SG a couple of years ago. Didn't vibe with that one the way I thought I would. Might have to try this one out, though.
Never been huge fan of SG model but this is actually one that i would love to own, sound is gold and its fits nice next to my tokai ALC-60BB 😃 just would need to put new pic-up's cos my tokai has tesla plasma 3 on it

listening to your description of an SG, reminds me of a certain Aussie rocker (I don`t want this post to be all about him-although I wouldn`t mind)! who said, the SG snarls faster, bigger & better than an LP, "Kerrang magazine" (my mate still has that origional edition)!
I've always like the SG sound more than the LP sound, grittier, dirtier RAW man !

I hope they release a white version of these. I have this one and I’m thinking about buying a 2nd and changing the hardware to chrome or nickel.
I have a 2020 Gibson SG 61 Standard with a Seymour Duncan Custom SH-5 in the bridge and a Phat Cat in the neck. Highly recommended!
i bought the 2020 61 standard and it was beyond garbage I dont even think zzounds wanted it back either

@@1969MARKETING wouldnt stay in tune. the finish had scratches all over the body like someone buffed it with a dirty rag. by what I have read you are very lucky. Loved the guitar and the way it felt

This is the closest I’ve heard to the Gibson. I mean you could nitpick a little on the clarity and presence (real one just sounds a bit ‘stronger’ and definitely a little more clear) but this is half maybe even a quarter depending on the model of the price of the real one, super nice, and literally sounds 90ish % exact. When you’re talking 90% of godlike sound for the half the price then heck ya.
Tonerider AC2 pickups,..They are the best PAF clones. Clarity, sustain, note separation, dynamics are unbelievably good.
I've installed them on all of my Gibson and Epiphone guitars.

Can someone tell me what the intro riff is, man I love it. Picked up an Epiphone 2020 Standard, batwing plate, cherry left handed. Flippin love it and can't put it down. The veneer blends really well at the bevels, beautiful job, and the sound!! Really meaty and gritty. My other electric is something from the other end of the scale, a Rickenbacker 330!

Epiphone, the Gibson is only that because it is a gibson, this inspired by gibson range is bringing back the past, the better side of gibson, it’s better value for money too, dagan said in this vid he’s never played anything closer to a gibson Sg custom, it’s a great guitar with good value:amazingness ratio

I'd actually love to try out an SG, and even get one if I like it. However I've been hearing so many bad things about Gibson and Epiphone QC that I'm not too certain. However, would like to test one out to make my mind up when this entire "Scare" is over.

Gibson's new CEO gets it. They've made changes. And I swear by Epiphone. They have several advantages over Gibson. Price, headstock angle (less chance of breaking) if something happens to it, most people can replace them fairly quickly. Epiphone's great for people who only kinda want a Gibson.

I got me on Gibson Les Paul 100 edition and it has a humongous neck, I absolutely love it, I’m looking for a humongous neck on an SG, can you please help me out somehow, can you please recommend something to meb, thank you so much !
Get either an older g400 non pro model or a newer batwing sg standard by either 1800 Gibson or the 500 Epiphone version if you want a baseball sized neck on the older 66 reissues you'd might want to avoid they have skinny necks

Do these alnico classic pro humbuckers sound warm and full like probuckers would?
they sound warmer than the probuckers. I have this guitar. Less sharp and bright than the probuckers for sure wich is exactly what i personally love about these pickups. They react very well with the way you use your right hand. Grab the strings and they growl. Touch them gently and they will sound smooth and very balanced. Plays crunch,clean and overly distorted metal very well. The only thing they don't do perfectly is articulate your note's very well when downtuning. Other than that they are really great.
Just a quick question.....Are the pickups potted/waxed? I have a cheaper SG and its pickups are microphonic and I have this SG Custom on the way, it'll be here in a couple of days. thanks
Den: the pickups on the model, Alnico Classic PRO are indeed wax potted. And these are, for Epiphone, great sounding pickups unlike their predecessor; the Alnico Classic.
(The old Alnico Classics are wretched sounding things that are best used as a paperweight or for throwing at STOP signs when driving down the road.)
@@lespauldisciple3349 Yes they sounded great, but mine were microphonic and they weren't even as hot as the ones in the SG Standard I'm using right now, and didn't take distortion very well. I couldn't even use the crunch distortion similar to what Nuno uses without all kinds of feedback even when my hands were muting the bridge pickup, so I took it in to have a Ibanez Ceramic ART series installed with the gold covers on, should be getting it back Wed. afternoon.

This is a nice looking SG indeed, but I think the gold hardware with the white inlays are not my favorite. Gold inlays would be a better match, but it also could be my touch of OCD!

What pick up on an SG is going to give me the closet tone to Jimmy Page on "the ocean"? This Custom with Alnico pros or a modern with probuckers? I know a LP pick up placement is different and will get me the closest but I am getting a guitar for my nephew and he hate the way the LP feels.
Hey man you still looking? I’d say just get the one he’ll think looks the best, at the end of the day it’s all just humbuckers and you’re not gonna get the exact sound as pages 59 LP on either. If he’s any good at dialling in a tone then he should get close enough with either. Just get the one that he won’t be able to look at without wanting to play
@@teddifreestone1123 Sadly he is already ignoring it in the case. I almost never hear him play it. Every time I go to his house I ask him to get it out and give it a go and he is just not into it. I ended up getting the SG. probably a few hours after the original post. A nice blue color. The guitar looks great and the sound on a real amp is also pretty darn good. His amp is pretty shitty tho so it never sounds like its in tune... its odd. I have never heard of anything like that in a amp. Anyway If his mom is set on selling it Ima buy it from him but I want him to have it in his room incase the bug bites him again.

@@teddifreestone1123 Yep that is the one. I have never heard of it either. Here is another crazy thing. I hooked up my US made jaguar to the amp and it did it to a lesser extent, but it still did it. Its only on power chords but there is a distinct detuning sound on the lower notes. I hooked his guitar up to my twin and it sounds almost perfect.
