А ещё тут, в этой постановке Нуреева, Pas de trois 1 акта солистки стараются танцевать вариации очень близко к версии Мариинки, но как же увы, это здесь получается грубо и немузыкально! А уж солисту в этом трио Рудик добавил технических "наворотов", которых нет и не было в нашей версии К.М.Сергеева, восходящей к Мариусу Петипа. Николя Лё Риш - мой любимый! Танцует, поставленную Нуреевым т. н. " Балладу принца", у нас её когда - то сочинил для себя Сергеев, многие его последователи это танцевали, насколько я помню - Викулов, Бланков, Бережной, Заклинский, но уже много лет её в Мариинке купируют, очень жаль.
Guillem is outstanding in her ability to appear totally vulnerable and warm, then absolutely cold and manipulative, and back again. This was a walk in the park for Plisetskaya and Maximova and others, but the majority don’t have an easy time of it. And Guillem didn’t stray more than a few inches during her fouettés….Amazing!

I remember how exhausting were the ensembles created by Noureev for the male corps in the first act. Nearly 30 mn non stop. Every boys were so out of breath they had to lay down in the wings after getting off stage.
Her whole first scene is so rippley and just dripping with emotion. Her fouettés in the introduction scene are so good. Her version of the mime is beautiful. She’s feeling act 2 so deep. Even her runs are the best.

In France, Sylvie was such a "national treasure" that when she left l' Opéra de Paris to join the Royal Ballet, the minister of culture (Jack Lang) was shouted and interpellated at the House of representatives ! big mess !
The French Opera should have let Guillem go to guest with other ballets, as they did their youngest male stars! That was all she wanted, and when they rejected every request, she had to take control of her career.

Odille seduction very scary. As a man, I am terrified. Sylvie in same league with Svetlana Zakarova in this. Odille must be that deadly for this ballet to work -- you must feel she would destroy love. Sylvie immortal.
Extraordinary, the star dancers are phenomenal. I saw this production a few years ago with Hugo Machand and Dorothee Gilbert, I think there are a few changes to the Nureyev's choreography now since then, but overall it is the same, especially the costumes. This dancer is extremely versatile and more vulnerable than Hugo's version, maybe it's the director wish. His jumps seem to be higher and his coda is superior to Hugo, I think. Sylvie of course is unsurpassed. Anyway, Paris is the unreacheable top overall. Bravissimi tutti!
Quelle performance merveilleuse ! En Angleterre elle est devenue froide et gymnastique . Lui sûrement un des plus grands danseurs français de tous les temps. La chorégraphie du solo du Prince du 1er act a été beaucoup améliorée dernièrement .
It sounds like you’ve got a terrible case of sour grapes when you allege that Guillem became “cold” and “gymnastic” in England….what a load of crap! She was a fiery and as passionate as she ever was in the beginning of her career and that only built toward her retirement! French fans are still angry that she left, but if they were smart, they’d attack the management of the French Opera who refused her requests to be allowed to guest at other ballet companies! They let the youngest male etoiles go, but not her. She had every right to take her career in her own hands rather than be reduced to a slave in her own country!
I think because it was taped (seemingly) by someone on their own video camera the coughs were more apparent since the mic on the camera probably wasn’t the best and they couldn’t record right next to the orchestra etc. I’m super grateful to them for recording the performance and sharing it with us anyways. And they still did a nice job! At least the audience tried to be quiet and wasn’t clapping and cheering or guffawing and booing in odd instances to try to manipulate and detract from the performance as is done at some events.
