  • I will be demonstrating how sublimation printing on a t-shirt | 100% Polyester is done step by step. In this tutorial I will be showing the sublimation process when printing on a 100% polyester t-shirt.
    I will be using 100% polyester t-shirt, A-Sub paper, the Epson WF-7710 printer with sublimation ink, the 16x20 HPN Signature Series Heat Press and Heat Resistant Tape.
    Make sure to set your printing quality on High or Best Quality, Media type on Premium Presentation Paper Matte, apply paper inside the shirt to stop bleeding from taking place, pre-press the shirt before applying the image, use heat resistant tap to keep the image from moving, press the image on the shirt using 375-400F for 60 seconds with a medium pressure.
    If followed the steps in the Tutorial video your sublimation images will come out just as you want them to.

    I think the sublimation process is an easy and fun way to add any designs to your products and the colours are always popping and bright just as in the image . Great work!

    One question can you explain cotton VS polyester. I would like to buy some bulk tee shirts and hoodies but do not know what material to stock up on. Thanks 👍

      Thanks very much for your comment and support.
      In relation to cotton vs polyester when it comes to sublimation. With sublimation ink it adheres to polyester more and does not wash out or fade. With cotton the sublimation ink can’t not adhere the way you would want it causing the image or picture to look very faded.
      There are some products you can purchase where you can apply it to the cotton shirts and then sublimate onto it but if you want the true colors between 50-100% polyester would be best.
      I how I answered your question and feel free to ask more if needed.

    Can you tell No we’re not if the shirts and design still good after first wash? thanks!

    • @atprints
      @atprints  Před měsícem +1

      Thanks for your question. With the Dri-fit shirts when you sublimate the image onto the shirt the image stays on forever and the quality stays the same. Of course after constant wearing of the shirt, the shirt itself will start to wear and tear.

    After printing on a sublimation paper, do you need to transfer/press that right away? Or can the printed design be left to sit for a few days before pressing? Will it make any difference? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

    • @atprints
      @atprints  Před 2 lety +4

      Thanks for your question. I would advise using it within the day or as soon as possible. However, on the other hand, ive lefted print outs for over more than one week and when i go back and sublimate the quality is still wonderful.
      I hope this answer helps you.

      Hi, thanks for your message. Make sure that the shirt is 100% polyester. If the shirt is cotton it will not work. Another thing is to make sure you give it a nice medium pressure. You can also reach out to me on Instagram @allan21thompson and I can assist you.

    How do you eliminate press marks?

    • @atprints
      @atprints  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for your question. I would need a little more clarity to assist. However, if you are referring to the shirt changing color after pressing it, then just allow it to cool down and the natural color will come back. In addition, I would advice making sure you cover the shirt from your heat press so the shirt is protected.

      @marcialvasquez5249 Před 11 měsíci +2

      Not true dri fit 100%poly marks will not go away ! I've been trying to find a good set for it but not matter what you do even if you don't go for the whole 60 seconds even if you do 10 seconds shirt will be marked and the color difference will always stay.

    • @atprints
      @atprints  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@marcialvasquez5249 Thanks for your comment and support of the channel. However, I do think you may have missed understood my comments to the previous viewer who asked how to eliminate press marks. When I commented about the shirt changing color, I was referring to scorching. At times when you press shirts with a lot of heat and pressure, especially white shirts, the front would somethings come out light red. This happens as I mentioned because of the high heat and temperature. It also happens for other color shirts but you can see it more on whites.
      This is what I was referring to when I noted to allow the shirt to cool down and it will naturally come back to the normal color.
      In addition, I do agree with you 100% that once you sublimate onto dri fit or polyester material there is no way to fix errors etc, but as I mentioned above I wasn’t referring to mistakes that took or can take place on the shirt.
      Hope this answer gives some clarity.

      The biggest problem I have is the lines around the image sublimated from the paper on 100% polyester dri fit material. It's not scorching, it's the line around the sublimation paper.
