      Well Rod I guess there is advantages to both parts of the country. However it always seems as though our fellow anglers and sportsman tend to trade off our rights to fish and hunting, in trade for either prestige or what they think is going to give their way of doing things the advantage. I guess people will never figure out it normally ends up bad for everyone. As the old saying goes, "give an inch, they'll take a mile". Their not good at giving rights back either. Our Message here at God's Country Hunting and Fishing is "Leave well enough alone". My Grandmother used to say, "If you don't know what to do, then don't do anything at all"!!!

      Yes sir. We do a little of everything, but the Hoop Net fishing is what's building our channel. We've noticed how little of the building and repair content isn't online, so we're trying to add it as we can. Thanks for showing the appreciation, and God bless!!

      @@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Yeah, exactly the same. Made them from hog wire - ordered the netting from Netting company in La. - coated them with flex seal...having trouble finding one of em. it's in 56 feet of water and i think it drifted down stream some. Thanks for the content - keep it coming!

      @@rogerfoster5291 next time id try roofing tar like in our videos. I'd think it would soak into the twine better. Not sure flex seal wouldn't just dry coat the outside. Hopefully you find it. Need good anchors if in heavier current. You can stretch your netting barrel over the outside of the wire nets, but you'd have to sew your catch throat onto the wire first. Not sure which way you did it. I'm gonna do some videos on them hopefully towards summer

      Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on it. We've been on a shutdown at our mill for 3 weeks and got about one more week left. I'm ready to get back in my routine, lol. Im working on that net and got part of the footage, but still editing. I should have it out in the next week or two. It will probably be at least another 2 part series. I should be rolling out another fishing video in the next couple days. Editing it now. Since you guys like the net building and those videos are doing decent, I may continue with some of those each year. Different sizes and mesh size. I'll also try including some wire nets. Thanks for the patience

    How far apart are the 5 overhand knots on the lead lines that the fingers are tied to?

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  Před 6 měsíci

      That varies and is something you just have to play with. Depending on net mesh size, I try to go far enough that my fingers stay squared up with my mesh. In other words if my mesh is 2.5, then a little ways down between my fingers is be close to that same width, 2.5. so your knots will probably be closer to 3 or 3.5 apart if that makes sense. That could vary a little depending on the taper on the throats. Longer the throat, the farther between those knots possibly. I don't like my fingers extremely long, reaching into the deep end of the net, so I tend to keep the knots close as possible and still look good

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  Před rokem +1

      @@user-gd4hp8xk3y The flat throats are primarily for Blue cats or Channel cats. We like catching Flathead catfish. Fingered throats catch Flatheads better. I'm not saying you won't catch one in a flat throat, but you won't catch near as many. It's got to do with the tightness of the throat and the amount a fish has to rub to get into that net. You also won't catch very many buffalo in flat throats in my opinion. Honestly, I'm not sure how long Flat throats have been out, but I'd never seen one used for years. All I knew was fingered throats. That said, they are easier made and will catch channel cats just fine. Thanks for watching!!
