I'm also Filipino married to a Russian woman. My Russian wife keeps asking me why I still don't know how to speak fluent Russian. It's because I don't have any one else to talk to. I told her Filipinos are very good at learning a language once they get immersed in it. In time I will learn it because she speaks Russian to our son😊👍

My grandpa was so fluent in speaking Filipino language particularly the Cebuano .My Filipina grandma loves him so much that she's so depressed even 7 yrs after he passed away during the early 70's and she was laid to rest also when i was only 10 yrs old..We moved to Manila during the early 80's and then we settled back again in Cebu and never met a single Russians in origin but mostly locals and locals with either Spanish and Italians origins..

Negros Island, there is Alex Kosh (Russian), Pacifiklaus (Austrian), the names of their YT channels, and other Russian speaking people, and others who are also YT vloggers but in Russian language. Also Russian language CZcamsrs, and communities in Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, some in Palawan and Mindanao.
Russians and other Russian speaking nationalities are maybe not that many in Philippines but they are increasing in numbers more than the yearly average. Some, if not most, of them have plans to move, but many shifted or changed their destination all of a sudden, and they have been coming to Philippines starting from the day of it's reopening from lockdown.
And I believe that's all thanks to the ever increasing retired expat YT vloggers.

Vicka’s Pilipino grammar and phrases are good. It’s really different if you want to learn new language when you’re young. When you’re 20 years old or over, it is hard already because the part of your brain that takes care of your speech is developed already.
yes it is harder for adults to learn new language. but with repetition and immerssion. it is not impossible.
If we reverse the situation to Eugene that they stay in Lithuania I am sure he can speak russian too , just how vickha speak tagalog . It's emersion, her surroundings helps her ,she expose too kaya ganyan nlang ka galing mag filipino si vickhka ,Saka filipino is not that hard language compare to Russian or French. I am excited for Eugene na sya naman yung mka experience how the culture in Lithuania.
Agree pre, mas mabilis matuto talaga kapag andun ka sa bansa ng language na pinag aaralan mo. Na eenjoy mo pati ung pag aaral nung language dahil nagagamit mo siya everyday.

Hi, lalong gumanda si Vika ng wala na ang dental braces nya. It's really nice to have someone to speak with your own tongue and more even you don't meet them oftenly. Sana may ma-meet din akong Ukranian, Lithiuanian or not from mainland Russsia but still fine if she's from Russia. Hope war will end in Europe.

Yes, I know many Russian and am glad for years Vickha never speak her Russian in actual but now personal she converse.
One thing I observe watch Russian Culture beside our religion nothing different the Russian more close to Filipino culture and attitude than western.
You are not alone! I also notice the Russians tend to blend in much better in local Filipino settings than other Western nationalities do. Heck, I even met Russians who are virtually jologs - something I cannot imagine seeing someone like a white American ever pulling off convincingly! 🤣🤣🤣

its not easy to learn russian esp when you dont have enough resources to use it. I studied Russian as my 4th language and for me its extremely hard, the pronunciation and grammar is hell. Well i think he can learn Russian if he'd like to since he has his gf to teach him and immerse him from the language

sa totoo lang ang pinakamdaling matutunan na salita ay English .Pansinin nyo lahat ng tao kayang magsalita , pero kung tayong mga Pilipino mag aaral ng salita ng ibang lahi ,kung ano ung nararamdaman natin kung paano aralin ung salita nila ay ganon din ung mararamdaman nila kung paano nila pag aralan ang salita natin o ibang salita bukod sa sariling salita . Kaya kung gaano tayo naiimpress kapag nakakakita tayo ng ibang lahi na marunong magtagalog o bisaya ,ganon din po sila kapag nakakakita sila na pinoy na kayang magsalita ng language nila .
