  • Hi we're Tara & Liam, travelling Australia in our 1986 Toyota Hilux and home built slide on camper.
This episode, we continue south along the coast, exploring some stunning beaches at Gerringong and Jervis Bay (including the infamous Hyams Beach) and have a few car issues along the way. Taking a spontaneous detour off the highway, we discover the hidden gem that is Bendalong and swim with some friendly stingrays.
    Where we stayed:
📍 Husskisson - Jervis Bay Holiday Park
📍 Jervis Bay - Green Patch Campground (NP)
    📍 Ulladulla - Milton Showgrounds
📍 Murramarang National Park - Pretty Beach Campground (NP)
    📍 Broulee - Big4 Ingenia Holidays
📍 Batemans Bay - NRMA Batemans Bay
📍 Bermagui - Reflections Holiday Parks Bermagui
📍 Merimbula - Millingandi Station (Hipcamp)
📍 Green Cape - Saltwater Creek (NP)

Great videos guys. So much better than most others, just doing it the simple way without all the bells and whistles. So refreshing to see.

hi guys I started following your travels and love the hilux as I have been thinking of getting one and putting a holden v6 and auto in it and when you changed the alternator on your s lo and behold a v6
what is your fuel consumption like and does the v6 handle the weight alright
    cheers

We've been pretty happy with the v6, overall a super cheap and reliable motor. Fuel wise we average around 16L/100km on 91unleaded with the canopy and towing boat.

I know you disconnected the dcdc charger because of alternator/wiring issues but I run a 40amp dcdc on my ln106 and the only issue the original alternator has is I don't get the full 40a from it.
Surely you could just connect and run it while your trying to get some charge then disconnect if you are worried instead of running off solar and 240 top ups?
