9:20 Do you hear that drilling noise that's coming from Joseph L Block when it blast it's dual horns?
@wolf the friendly absol Why does it sound like that, I've never heard a air compressor makes a drilling noise or did I?
@forge-master-wolf 𝘠𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴, 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘪𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸.
5:56 The Edmund Fitzgerald horn sounded exactly like this.
no
No it did not.
@@TNS17 Yes it did, The Fitz had the exact same whistles as the Ryerson Does.
Its the same but in a different pitch
this is REAL music right now
Jaime Keever ha lol
American fortitude horn is my favorite shame they scapted her
I think I like the Edward L. Ryerson's horn best. Although I also sort of like the American Fortitude's horn. That little squeak at the beginning is my favorite.
I'll agree with the Ryerson
Elliot Legos, Ferries, And MO! U
Tyepel
american fortitued reminds me of when I used to go here 10 years ago. Also why was the bridges horn that quiet for a few months?
From what I've heard, the Ryerson has the same type of horn that was on the Edmund Fitzgerald. So when you hear the Ryerson, , you're hearing a close approximation of what the Fitz sounded like.
James R Barker and the Barker
Tregurtha is straight up intimidating. Imagine hearing that.
She was intimidating, she was originally built as the USS Chiwawa, which was a navy oiller
Elliot Legos, Ferries and MO! I agree 100%! If you look up the now-scrapped cruise ship called SAGA RUBY, her two-toned horn or “whistle” is pretty much the same, except air driven I think. The Edward L Ryersons were steam driven. Kind regards from Auckland, New Zealand!
James R Barker is the best whistle on the great lakes imo
love this video keep stuff like coming
Chris F railfan for
the Oberstar sound like it's breathin'
That was cool! !!!!!:*)
I saw Philip. R .clarke it was my first ship I saw!
I love these ships
I love the look of the Steam ones
Rock Tuner me to
Rock Tuner most of them were built in the 1950’s and 1960’s. That’s why.
The ryerson has a angry horn, sadly she is still asleep and I won't be able to see her
what horns do the american fortitude candian miner and joseph h block use including the john b boland
8:00 probably a horn that should go against the biggest cruise ships and liners!
On those ships that have both, Do the crew in the foc’sle ever talk to the crew in the stern castle? Why have so much accommodation at each end?
Mittal ought to make Ryerson a self unloader, she looks terrible just sitting there rustingnaway
What happened to the others in their years? It looks good, but I'm not sure what went wrong with parts from 1999-2012.
Algowood has a cool twinnote horn.
Mike Pendergrass 52s
including the capt henry jackman
1:19 Horn is my favorite!
BOOOOOOOOOOOP Boop Boop
My favorite lullaby.
11:01 horn is my favorite
i like the American spirit and the james r barker horns
i Like ships
roger bough actually has dual horns
randomdude354 Yep, but in the video she is only using one of those horns.
ok
What happened to Parts 1-4?
What? There were more?
@@TheEmeraldMenOfficial All four parts.
I Think The John G. Munson Has A dual Horn,Though The Herbert C. Jackson has A Normal Horn Now
The Jackson was repowered to diesel in the winter so sadly her Leslie 300 steam horns were replaced with the boring KPC-130 Electric piston horn that nesrly every ship has these days!
Watch This! Presque Isle 11:34
Tug has a train horn
Herbert C Jackson is being converted to diesel. Will it be renamed like the Oberstar? As of now, the Badger and Alpena are the only steamers left.
Cason Calloway, Arthur Anderson, Phillip Clarke,
Actually, the Arthur M. Anderson, Cason J. Callaway, Phillip R. Clarke and the Wilfred Sykes are all still steam powered, and running.
+Spaghettios I had always thought that they were diesel powered. Also, is that the same horn that they would have had in the past?
The three AAA steamers used to have Leslie Tyfon 300's, but now carry Kahlenberg piston horns. The Wilfred Sykes still has a functional 300/425 pair, but seems to use a modern piston horn more often now.
Also, Michipicoten still retains her original Tyfon 300's, but sounds then on air, giving them a deeper pitch, which I don't mind. :)
I saw the fortitude being scraped
Sad, because she was essentially the prototype for Edmund Fitzgerald and Edward L Ryerson. Most ships of the 50’s were based on her class and the one before...
I miss that ship
3:52 sounds like a train horn
The enterprise and the progress and the transport are all gone to sleep now
The Edmund fitzgerald
there isnt a fitzgerald here
american victory sounds like a goat
