From someone who has been in VR since DK1 days 2013/4 I am incredibly impressed with PSVR2. Anyone who doesn't want to invest £1000+ on PCVR then the PSVR2 gives a fantastic experience and in some ways surpasses a PCVR experience due to the outstanding oled displays.
There are some caveats but nothing that's too bad imo.
returning right away doesnt make sense. Ofcourse ALL our expectations were overhyped which is normal. But to not give it a chance at all? I wasnt to happy either. Once I figured out how to properly wear it, lower brightness im in love now
I read a lot of reviews and im confident there is a fix coming.

I own the system now for 6 months and my feelings about the PSVR2 are changed.
I'm no longer looking at all its little flaws and just enjoy it.
The Devs are getting better with making the games visualy/framerates.
The system is fine

Its okay i accept your decision but the reason for returning is not justify able enough to put it as a review? What if they fixed the bug at the time of people seeing this review? Its a bug in 1 software and you are complaining towards the entire hardware!
Btw i can accept that other flaws in hardware like plastic things and the light blocker stuffs and battery backup. But the software issue i don’t accept!
I haven’t returned just because software bugs but the overall value for the money i have spent. As a AR/VR developer, I want headset that can help me with making games as well along with entertainment. For $600, I think I am expecting more than just gaming headset.

The sense of scale I felt when I was in the GTR 7 virtual reality show room was amazing. Insaneeeeeee experience! If you like, break your VR2 set that's your business!
It’s worth it to any GT7 enthusiast. I’ve logged 200 hours in GT7 in VR and I never get bored of the immersion.
Love my Psvr2. Sony are really smashing innovative tech rather than just angling for "the most powerful" nonsense.
I love both my Playstation VR and Playstation VR 2 and I've had no problems at all my new headset but i think there have been some defective controllers as a few people have had problems with the right controllers no working properly
My right controller has issues in game but not in the PlayStation menu itself Wich is wierd, hopefully an update can fix it. I can make it work by inserting a pin on the "reset tiny hole" and then it works in game just fine

There is more than 1K comments reddit thread about how to fix it. For me it was blowing can of compressed air into edges of trigger and flicking it at the same time. Had same left controller issue you had.
Also there was system update and firmware update for DualSense, VR sense controllers and VR2 headset. It has mixed response as if it fixed the problem or not.
This is resolved with the latest patch update for Horizon call of the mountain from Sony on March 6th!
Is this widespread issue common with all the units . Actually i was going to import one.. and with no warranty with import . I am worried.. can anyone guide me?
i have to ask,knowing that horizon is a downloadable digital copy code,you had to return that as well right 😅????
I have an issue with the right controller. It works fine in the menus but does not respond in game. Call support and was told to either wait for a patch or send it for repair. Now just considering returning it or exchanging it for another.
1. The issue with horizon is a game issue
2. The build quality is in line with the price as they had to use cheaper materials due to the high amount of tech in the headset
VR2 is mind blowingly good. Don't believe anyone that tells otherwise.

I agree hey! I have the HTC Vive and I just got the PSVR 2 and it shits all over THAT! and that cost a stupid amount of money! This is well worth it. At first I couldn’t believe the price. But the tech involved in the psvr2 and the controllers and all and how light it all is makes is amazing! Playing games at 120Htz at 4K on OLED LENSES!!!! best VR on the marked today without having to spend THOUSANDS on the new Vive and then having to buy a whole new pc just to run the bigger! My graphics card alone cost more then the psvr2 and I get a much more fun experience playing the psvr2 for sure!
Sorry mate but I have again disagree with you. Let’s put the quest 3 in perspective. It doesn’t have to be connected to anything having a standalone experience without having to buy another console for it. It can also play PCVR games that have big improvements over the PSVR 2 which has worse resolution. It as well has pancake lenses which make huge improvements. The PSVR 2 however has very little selection of exclusives as well as games as a whole. Now the PSVR has some upsides like better controllers and comfort, but the problem is it can only play the games on that console. Now you have your own opinion, but it’s clear the quest 3 is a better console as a whole as your getting more games.

Make sure you set 120 in display setting on ps 5 and also in games.
Doesn't work for all games but good shout as should be on regardless
I almost returned mine as well. Coming from PCVR, the PSVR2 feels like a step back. The ONLY reason I’m keeping it though is cuz’ of the amaZing controllers, especially when firing weapons, there’s basically nothing like it anywhere else and of course reason 2 is the PS exclusives. But yeah the tiny ‘sweet spot’ and soft/low rez graphics really suck.
Your points are clear but it does not mean it is not worth it, you review is very short and other youtubers showed so much more good points which you did not talk about.
I love the psvr2 and only got about 12 games on it, horizon was not my thing and found it made me feel a little sick but other games are great and can’t wait to see what comes up on the store over time. If it is anything like the psvr it will blow everything out of the water in time
That’s unfortunate you had that experience with Horizon. I assure you Horizon is a masterpiece, it’s the perfect showcase to anyone new or old to VR, designed so you can experience the best out of their amazing headset and VR sense controllers. If you do decide to purchase again, my advice is try some demos there are a lot of very good ones you will have fun with and from those demos I’m sure you’ll make a better judgement on PSVR2 before so quickly dismissing it all together!
My recommendations to you are, Resident Evil VR, Starwars VR, and Song in the Smoke! All 3 of those demoes including Horizon absolutely wowed me. Ciao and hopefully you can have a change of heart and give it a better shot! Cheers!
It doesn't look like a masterpiece honestly. It looks kinda..er....something. Don't think it would hold up for one second without VR gimmicks (I like VR btw but just.... no lol). My mum might like it though
Half Life Alyx should have been priority number one for Sony
To me, it wasn’t just about the gaming, I really liked what I saw during my time in PSVR2 in Horizon until it didn’t work but the fact that it is nothing without PS5 cuts lot of points for me, an option to have a standalone system built in that can run itself would be really great as it is as expensive as a great PS5 console. @@DuckAlertBeats Half Life Alyx is exclusive to Valve Index, that’s like saying Xbox should’ve focused on getting GT7 VR if they Series X had their own headset. I don’t totally disagree It would be freaking awesome to experience Alyx with PSVR2 prowess and horse power.

For the price the psvr2 is a beast, and that's coming for someone that loves pcvr and has a quest 2. At this price point and the tech inside the headset you'll easily pay over 1k on pc and not to mention you better have a nice rig. Hats off to Sony for this one. Is it perfect? Not by a long shot but if they continue to bring more AAA titles, the psvr2 is going be next to impossible to beat!

You would of returned the Quest 2 on launch day as well most likely because PSVR2 is twice the hardware and has waay more game available than Quest 2 did at launch.
And if you have a Sim Racing setup GT7 VR alone is worth $1K.
No PCVR game can match it...trust me I tried them all.

When Quest 2 first came out, it had far fewer games than PSVR 2. And it can't play AAA VR titles. Try Grid Legends and you will see. Grid Legends has PS1 graphics with motion sickness on that stupid Quest 2. You can't play real AAA sim racing games like GT7 on Quest 2. Quest 2 is highly uncomfortable. I played GT7 for 8 hours on PSVR2 with no problem. You can't use that cheap Quest 2 for more than an hour without a major headache. Quest 2 is near the end of its lifecycle. Don't buy it.

The fact you couldn't get the game working right shouldn't be a factor in reviewing the hardware. You may have had the controller motion controls on. The light plastic makes for a lighter headset. Awful review. 2 out of 200 stars

I return mine too. I hated that face flap, padding sux and the headband is so cheap. Not enough vr games in the library. Most of the launch games were a psvr1 title.

I'm returning mine too,it doesn't matter what I do it looks blurry especially when turning your head it's not the big leap over the original i was expecting.

A 4k or 8k tv from a normal distance might be crystal clear. 2k lenses point blank up to your nose isn't going to look crystal clear right? Probably more like effectively 1080i or p at that range? At absolute best?
I think this is what's misled a lot of disappointmented people who kept hearing 4k, crystal clear etc when it may be in VR terms, maybe, but not what we generally think of as crystal clear imo

@@nathanjones1008 same. From my experience in Re8. It looks clear if you stare in the middle of the screen and don’t move. Otherwise everything kinda looks slightly fuzzy while your moving . Very irritating. After 20-30 minutes, I wanna take off the headset. Re8 motion blur sucks on flat screen version. Vr is just 10x worse. Had to turn the camera sensitivity all the way up to fight it. I’m not returning it because I really want to play switchback but I fear that after I beat that game I will only use psvr2 like once a month just like the first psvr
You’re likely getting exactly the same “Crystal clear” imagine as many people report. Some folks have been using heads sets for years and the PSVR 2 is a big upgrade for them.
My nephew plays games on a tablet. He thinks the PSVR 2 looks crystal clear for example.

I love the PSVR1! It felt like quite a special launch honestly despite the compromises and stuff. I dunno. I don't trust Sony and their taste in games these days haha the Horizons etc no thanks mate

If you already have a quest 2 i dont think it's worth it yet, it has potential but iam going to wait to see if theres more exclusive games that come out for it, the current exclusive library isnt that impressive, horizon is short and linear, gt7 and resident evil village look great but thats just two games, 90-95 percent of the other games are also available for quest 2 and quest 2 you can add more third party games, with psvr 2 your locked into sonys walled garden.

The flaws are very minor. Low build quality? Who cares it's really comfortable. It feels plastic when you hold it the one second you are putting it on. And it's not as bad as he described it in the video btw. I have one myself and it feels cheap but durable on only the front. The rest feels great. Displays are amazing and his biggest issue is literally a software bug that takes less than 30 seconds to fix.

The only bad thing about it is fresnel lenses which really is a result of it not being a high end headset.
The issue is people are expecting a 1500-2000 dollar quality for 550-1000 dollars. That's just not realistic

and being tethered and with frenell lenses in 2023.. a big ask in a market where pretty mucy everbody else are moving to pancake lenses.
frenell lenses is infamous for that low sweetspot right in the center and then get blurry outside.
also profound on Quest2 versus highend pancake-lens-based 'headsets like these Pico4 that is both way higher resolution and pixel density with 1200PPI and higher FOV 123 diagonal.
