We call it nooch in our household and love it on things like popcorn! It can be expensive if you buy bottles of it, but they usually have it in the bulk section of stores (from Winco to Whole Foods).

00:31 Good call, we add whole eggs to our raw dog meals. We live on the edge of the country and have diary's and egg farms all around us.
    1:18 rabbit ears, yummy
1:51 bone broth, we buy Costco rotisserie chickens, strip most of the meat and throw all the rest into instant pot for 2 hours, bones are like butter. vac pac it and serve with raw dog meals. Dogs love it and super packed with goodness
    2:22 so like brewers yeast?
I put that on popcorn, very yummy.

How to get your dog to eat its biscuits (Kibble)
Put all the remains of a cooked chicken, or large fish (bones and all) in a pressure cooker. Add water until the contents are just covered. Pressure cook on high for one hour. Then add all the cooked contents into a blender, and blend until the bones have been liquidised. Then pour contents into bottles that will seal when cooled (large tomato cooking sauce bottles are ideal with the original lids). When bottles are full, allow to cool, then place them in the fridge. Once cooled and refrigerated, the sealed contents will solidify. Then, each day add just half a cup (after microwaving for 10 seconds) to doggies kibble and make Shure it coats all the kibble by mixing it around with a spoon. Doggy will gobble it up and its coat will start to shine within one week.

My dog won’t eat raw chicken feet (chicken paws) lol
But he does like them when I put them raw into my dehydrator and dry them out till they’re crunchy. He’ll take them that way and I love to hear that crunch anyway 😊.

Great info‼️ I can find canned oysters but none that don’t have salt. Can I use these & should I rinse? Used to be able to get fresh oysters in New Orleans but since moving, I don’t have that option😢 Couldn’t get past the chicken feet looking too much like human/alien hands & nails. Got so upset I threw them out.

  • @nospoonfulofmayonnaiseforme

I often boil chicken up for my puppy and save the "broth" for her kibble dinner. One time it turned all gelatinous which is not normal. I don't remember using a different cut of meat or more skin than normal, how unusual! :) seems like bones with muscle and ligaments are what contribute to the gelatin amount? I'll look out for some at my butcher.

    this video's really helpful
sadly, i had to switch Clover back to kibble (IDK how long) as she's been having diarrhea for many days straight (but she acts normally otherwise) and i don't know what is the cause, so at least i can enrich her kibble for the time being :(

    • @PawsofPrey
      @PawsofPrey  Před rokem

Taking time to reset would be a good idea then. Maybe test the waters by adding small amounts of raw into her kibble as a topper and see if she has any reaction to anything. Maybe it was too quick of a transition, or maybe too much organ meat? Too little bone? A protein sensitivity? I hope you can figure it out!

@@PawsofPrey i'm thinking about adding some raw ground meat back to her kibble but i need some time in case something happens again
just find something not adding up because when i switched her to raw, she was fine but overtime she began having diarrhea, i'm thinking it's because of too much organ meat (as she's been picky with bones at times)

Great information. My pup is fed with 70% raw + 30% kibble. After calculating the nutrition intake, I think my pup’s meal is a bit low in zinc. I can’t find canned oysters in Finland, even fresh oysters are also rare. Do you have any suggestions for alternatives? 😊

Depends on what you add as a topper! For instance, adding liver will be adding a little too much vitamin A and copper. Adding spleen will be adding a little too much iron. Adding oily fish to a fish based food will probably be a bit too much polyunsaturated fatty acids. Adding meaty bones every single day will make the diet a little too high in calcium, that's why I chose these foods in particular.
Egg provides all essential nutrients a dog needs, but nothing is excessively high.
Rabbit ears are mainly used for fur and as a crunch treat.
Bone broth isn't particularly high in any specific nutrient.
Nutritional yeast is mainly high in B vitamins, but theses are water-soluble so any excess will be lost in the urine.
Elk velvet isn't particularly crazy high in anything, and you only need to give a small amount anyway.
Myoglobin isn't crazy high in anything.
Fermented grasses is a probiotic source over anything, vitamin E isn't crazy high, and even if it was, vitamin E can be brought up well above recommended levels without issue.
Mussels are high in manganese, but no negative effects have been seen with high manganese intake - there isn't even an upper limit in dog nutrition standards.
You should watch how much goat cheese you feed just because of the calories and fat.
Poultry feet are uniquely LOW in calcium, which is why they make a great meaty bone for pets fed a commercial diet.
