Elena Cernei war ein echtes Gottegeschenck für die Menschheit! Schade das heute quasi in Vergessenheit geraten ist wie viele Sängerinnen der Vergangenheit! Die neue "Stars" werden niemals dieses Niveau erreichen....Danke vielmals für Posting!

Cernei had a really huge voice and an impressive range. I saw her on stage in Carmen. She was really great with all those golden sounds of hers. Unfortunately, her complete recording of Samson et Dalila for the Romanian label Electrecord, is not enough well known. It wasn't even transferred to CD. Only one or two arias were. A great pity.
The complete discography of Samson et Dalila - Elena Cernei, Ludovic Spiess, Dan Iordăchescu, conductor Kurt Adler - was mastered on CD by Electrecord in 2008.
