I remember when Pino Palladino said he was instructed to play with a groove that felt like he was about to fall off the beat when performing with D'Angelo and I put that into practice.
Also, many overseas performers have a strong emphasis on low frequencies, so I have been purposely boosting my bass recently.
I aim to create a bassline that makes people dance more than just hear the low end 😄
