One other tip would be get a reasonable idea of what the weather is likely to be during the game, you don’t want to be caught out by a rain shower and risk your kit and/get drenched and uncomfortable

This was a great help to me as I have my 1st amature leage game next week in my local city, I'm shooting for Carlisle City fc. I did notice you have shot at Carlisle utd before atls you showed an image at Braunton Park explaining keeping you images straight.

Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found it helpful. Yes, I've shot at Carlisle Utd twice I think, maybe three times. Really enjoyable place to shoot, press are well looked after, people are friendly and the drive up there is beautiful in good weather! Good luck for the game!

Your triangle at the one minute mark is incorrect. ISO values should be swapped.

Great little video with some great tips. I am a rank amateur who takes pictures for my local rugby union side and this will certainly help, I’d love to be able to send you some I’ve taken to see what you think? I’ve used a Nikon D5100 with a 70-300 Nikkor lens until recently when I’ve got myself a Tamron 18-400 lens. My camera body died last weekend so I’ve upgraded to a Nikon D7100 going forward.

Hey don’t mean to offend if I do, but the diagram you’ve used for the exposure triangle is incorrect on the iso side

Good tips and well-presented. But you use a very broad term, "action sports" to describe a very narrow slice of the pie, namely action sports invoving balls. Remember the old TV slogan "Wide world of sports?" There's auto sports, boat racing, water sports, sailing, snow sports, diving, sky diving, gymnastics, swimming, and many more. The point of bringing this up is that your technique list, while great for field/ball sports, doesn't apply to action sports universally.

Hi Alan, yeah it's a great point. I do get wrapped up in football a little much! I have done some other videos touching on other types of sports (motorsport, cycling, wind surfing, etc), but they are definitely a different approach required!
