As a Canadian, I would love to see the Haida considering it is one of the few Royal Canadian Navy ships in the game!
100% agree canadian ships deserve more attention
It's also super busted at its tier. Haida is hands down the *BEST* T7 DD in the game

She's an amazing ship! Absolutely wrecks other t7 destroyers. I got her with a Canada day paint job from the respective sale.
I had to look it up. What makes it special is the extreme pen angles on the AP. Hence the dev strike, and the cits on the Balti. In the entire game, only Hood and Duke of York have BB guns with Des Moines AP pen angles. Pretty cool gimmick if you ask me.
Hood is unlike the other UK BB's. Improved AP Pen angles (60-68) paired with full fuse timers (.033s). 381mm at this tier too isn't bad either. She can slap.

@@EvoraGT430 DoY gets hydro and isnt as fast or well armored, plus 14in guns dont let you overmatch the lower tiers as often.
The short fuse was removed early on after people kept complaining the guns can't pen armoured ships
they are kind of different, though they both share improved ap angle.
Hood is with normal fuze AP, but with normal HE.
DoY gets short fuze AP, and with improved UK HE.
so Hood use mainly AP for most target. DoY's AP is more for deal with cruisers, you will use HE more for heavy target

In that second game watching the Hisenyang dropping two volleys of deep-water torps at the Gaede made my soul hurt.

I haven't seen the incident in question, but assuming you have no other use for the torps they can be useful in making the other player panic sometimes.
Glad to see you enjoying Hood, seh's been a favourite of mine for ages, the other thing is she's from the era when ships stats were actually pretty realistic to life.
The gimmick was the AA because before the CV reworke it was absolutly brutal

i remember getting Hood when it first came out and the aa simply blasted entire enemy aircraft formations out of the sky.

Improved AP, short fuses, quite a lot of 50 mm plating, great turret angle , SPEED. Natural born kiter, flanker and cruiser killer.
I want to see you experience more low tier fun! I Suggest the tier 6 British cruiser the Dido
Yes, try a low tier match as a DD ! Wickes has 6 torps on each side and they reload so fast.

I'd love to see a comparison of Mogami's different guns. People talk bad about the 203's (?) but would love to see if you can do well with them. One match 155's, next match 203's.
203s are good, they're the same as Atago gets, but reload faster. Not as fast as Ibukis though.
The 155s have higher dpm and shred DDs. Not quite as good since IFHE nerf, but still very good. They also traverse much slower than the 203s.
Both work well, but 155s make the ship more unique. AP is not as useful on the 155s and you'll get more shatters, but also more fires.
Would love to see the Seattle played! It’s a little underrated but it’s a really fun ship. I think it would be cool to see you play it!

I sadly didn't get to save a replay or screenshot of the results page, but I recently had what was beyond a spectacular game in Hood. 7 citadel hits (from some oblivious light cruisers) and 2 or 3 sunk ships and over 100k damage. It feels amazing to just race around shooting away at targets of opportunity with her.
Not for next video obviously, but i cant wait for ur review over the Ruggiero di Lauria when she releases. The Italian 18 inch pasta is exciting! 🇮🇹
Playing with the BB skills IS safe, but you can have more fun by ditching them, taking Grease the gears, Brisk, Long range secondaries, AR, Close Quarters Combat and maybe dump the rest of the points into AA. It'll head up to a flank at 35kts (more if you use the flag) and as soon as you meet someone you just go to town with the 381s.
Rudder mod on it is great too, especially to dodge torps. On maps with islands, as soon as you dispatch any witnesses the Brisk just lets you reposition faster. I sometimes wish I could trade the DFAA gimmick for an Engine Boost, especially since the other British BCs got it and Hood was the OG British BC, but I guess having this thing do 38 or 39kts would be a bit nuts.
Boy i love my hood, i have it since its release along the hunt for the bismarck campaign, one of my first premium BBs, haven't played it much since i usually play T9-10, but it still there in my port with the last campaign camo, amazing ship both in gameplay and history
oh that first game, around 8:05 when you mention not being able to asw due to range. gives me 'nam flashbacks of playing my massa in a 3 sub game
Play the Wickes. I know even with randoms its mostly bots, but the sheer craziness of torping 8 ships to death in a few minutes is just a real fun change from the slow BB X games.

If you like wickes your gonna love clemson. Shes one of the best low tier dds if not best at that tier. Having 6 guns on call to deal with enemy dds is kinda busted

Hood is such an underrated ship, a while back when Brawl was Tier 7, 1BB and Cruiser on each side, with Brisk she's absolutely brutal
It's a Weser. The torp planes reset in five seconds. He also blew the drop on the Colorado when he saw you were broadside and an easier target.

Not a Canuck, but lived there several years, so I'm gonna go with the Haida, too. I know it's hard to get these days, but was playing it in ranked (and doing pretty well) a lot when it was T7 back earlier in the year.

Hood is my favorite T7 BB. The short fuse AP wrecks cruisers and hammers DDs. It won’t delete BBs but it will chip away at their upper parts from range.
Hood is accurate enough, fast, and the AP delivers consistent results. She can take a hit too. And has DFAA and a super heal:

I've been playing Hood for a while. Key lessons: 1. AA is terrible, even with the booster, 2. best played near maximum gun range, 3. it's very strong against heavy cruisers, less so against BBs and performs poorly against t9 BBs (I get match-made against Musashi and Jean-Bart fairly often)
Half expected it to blow up in the first two minutes, true to history.

Hood doesn’t have the pen for BBs. It’s designed for cruisers. Yuro has a good video going over this. AP for cruisers and salt and pepper for anything else lol
They actually increased the fuse time from Hood’s initial short fuse AP.

LMAO, this is my exact experience in my hood. great games with great damage and potential damage so I'm not just snipping, I'm trying to win. but I always have the worst teams whenever I take it out. Hood is cursed af. glad its not just mine 🤣

Do the Flandre, french BB with a lot of sec bat but it's french so they are more for fun 😊
My Father was on HMS Devonshire during his national service.
Gaede is 100% my fave destroyer, 150mm to smash cruisers (low tier cruisers are so easy to explode) you have great hydro, okay smoke, and if the dds angle slightly you hit them like a truck
It'd be interesting to see how Prinz Eugen fares in the current meta given its unique characteristics

Got this in the event a couple months back for 60M silver and 100k coal, really worth it.
Graf Spee please! Lots of people crap on it but it's a pretty cool historical ship. Even if it doesn't translate into a good game ship.

The BB at 8 mins that you couldn't figure what it was looks like a Rio De Janero, T5 bb with a lot of guns but no speed and literally 0 AA defense (not even joking it doesn't have AA). Also do Tirpitz or Bismarck and give us your opinion on if the sisters are still worth it. I love my Bis and Tirpitz, and doing a secondary build on them is brutal out to 11km, I can rain down a firestorm on anything that gets in that range and burn them to the water a lot of times.

I always hated this ship. The guns were utterly trash for me, even when I first got her waaay back in the day (on her initial release). Same with Warspite.
Heck, any British BB with these guns was absolutely unusable for me. The guns just would *not* behave. I almost always straddled the target rather than hitting it.
In fact, there was one salvo I remember where, using Hood, I had 3 targets in front of me. One was a DD about 4km from me which was about to die (very low HP, under focus from the rest of the team). The second was a broadside cruiser at 10km (my intended target) and the last was a BB at basically max range.
I targeted and fired at the cruiser with all 8 guns. Nothing hit it.
No. In fact, the dispersion was so comically awful that I hit both the DD (killing it) and the BB (not big damage), but not the cruiser!
Man, I so wanted to love that ship...but with that experience I couldn't do it anymore.

That Guepard actually fucked up and didn't kill the sub despite being almost on top of it. The sub which you thought was killed by Guepard was actually a friendly killed by enemy BB.
Hey potato. What line would you recommend for closer range brawling? Schlieffen or kremlin? I Mainly play CAs and BBs and have long range covered by yamato and mid with Montana..

Bloody Hell! Figuring in the losing team penalty on Base XP you were top of both teams in performance. Even figuring in the PQ-plays-really-well factor, this seems like a fairly capable battleship. But when the enemy high-tier battleship is top on his team, and yours is a miserable dead last, the odds of a happy ending just aren’t there.
