I remember playing Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy when I was a kid. I didn't really finish the game, because I didn't know what to do and where to go. I lost and gave up. But now I finally finished it! Thank God!

I remember my Uncle (who has the same name as Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince) let me play this game when I was little, I didn’t get far because I didn’t know what to do, years later, when I was in my 20’s, out of nowhere, I remembered vague memories of playing this game, eventually, I found the name of the game, and now, I have my own copy.
A bit of a spoiler - the beginning "Every bone in my body tells me that the answers rest on the SHOULDERS of a young boy".. That's daxter. Go play Jak 3 for the rest ;)

Daxter, definitely. I feel like creators weren't thinking about a sequel and it is evident at the very end when the door is opened and nothing is really happens. It seems they didn't have any ideas and they wanted to leave some ambiguity to work with if in fact they did make a sequel. I see where you're coming from though, I thought the same thing there for a second.

It's interesting how different the first game was compared to the rest of the series. I can accept a change of direction for sequels, but, in retrospect I'd say the change was very jarring.
As good as the original is, the sequels are massive improvements imo.

Despite Jak 2 being my favourite of the original trilogy, I wish we got another game in this original world. I feel like there was enough material for more stories.

To this day, I only prefer Keira in the first game. She was just so cute.
In the second game, she was too bitchy, the third game she barely did anything, and in X, she was clingy and thirsty to get in Jak's pants. :/

The Jak and Daxter trilogy had some really detailed animation. There's so much subtle stuff to look back on with the characters and their body language. Lol
I always did love the Jak & Daxter game series ever since this FIRST one! lol At first I thought Jak was always gonna be like Crash Bandicoot not talking but then they gave him a voice in the 2nd one thank goodness.
Keira was so adorable and beautiful in the first game. But now she's sort of....ugh.

Imo, this is the best game in the trilogy. Kiera actually played a part in the story, unlike in the future games, which even as a kid I felt was way too jarring. I also LOVE the voice acting and character models in this game. In 2nd game and onward the character models look like... action figures or something. The pupils of the eyes are too shiny and big. But yeah this is the best one hands down imo.

It was referring to Daxter, because Andy Gaving (the writer for Jak 2) hadn't thought of the story for Jak 2 yet haha but of course in hindsight it seems like it was meant to foreshadow Jak 2.

Just to say, this was my old comment I made when I was at least 16 from a defunct account I NEVER said that TPL is better than II. Neither did I said as fact. All I essentially said back then was that the first game’s charm and design is something I found nice and soothing. Also, just because a game is dark doesn’t automatically make it better. i feel like the "beware the dark light" might apply to jak as a warning, and that "it has twisted the fate of one of you" kind of applies to daxter because of the whole ottsel thing. that's the great thing about this series and their friendship--they usually stick out fates together and have to deal with it the same way.
