You can run a thick bead of silastic on the top and bottom of the conduit. Leave the cable ties in place until it sets, ( about a week) and then cut and remove the cable ties.

love that idea, thank you. I might have to brush up on my silicon skills to make sure I get nice neat lines, silicone can look a bloody mess if a hack job :-)
      Thanks buddy

Great Video. Ill do something similar. For your brackets to replace the zip ties, have a look at a bonding agent, and bond a bracket to the frame. Some have shear strengths similar to welds, and there should be no real pressure on them as it's all light weight.

Thanks Steve, good idea … I’m off to Bunnings to research the bonding agents because I still have ugly cable ties which look shithouse 😆

We just took delivery of a similar van and I like what you have done with the SD camera. How long is the 40mm square tube? Did you use galvanised steel or aluminium?

Hey how are you, thanks for watching. The 40x40x is 740mm long (I think I originally bought a 1mtr length and trimmed it to get it over the top of the tyre). It’s aluminium to save weight. I’ve since had to change the camera, because it’s install as it is it was very easy to swap in the new camera.
      Peace and enjoy.

My suggestion would be to use SS cable straps.

Thanks for the advice Chris, at the moment I still only have Bunnings plastic clips with double sided tape , I need to do something proper.
      Peace :-)

Just wondering how much the camera vibrates being quite a distance from the mounting bracket. And are you concerned with security.

Hey, good questions: 1) there is zero vibration, the camera bracket to post is riveted super secure, the two u-bolts holding post to rear wheel carrier are nylock and done real tight, plus they are difficult to access and not easy to 'un-bolt'. 2) This all adds up to it being secure and reduces our worry of theft. We are very happy with it's location/operation.
      Peace.
