- It's a sunny winter day (19c) so we decide to drive down to Brisbane on Friday afternoon. We haven't had lunch and it's almost 4 o'clock, so we pop into 'Italian Street Kitchen' in West End for some pizza and tiramisu...authentic Italian style and it's delicious! After a wander around West End, we catch up with our daughter (Sarah) in James Street, Fortitude Valley and she shows us a couple of new restaurants. Paul and I are so full from lunch that we pass on dinner, so Sarah chooses a new Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian eatery. We were fascinated with the concept and Sarah said the food tasted awesome. Before long the restaurant was full of diners enjoying their dinner outside on a winter's evening (thanks to the heat lamps). With full tummies, we jump back into the car, turn on the heated seats and some music and drive back home to the Hinterland......

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

I am planning to move to Brisbane, but I am so afraid, people always afraid of the unknown future, especially when they move to a new place without friends family. But your video shooting my anxious a little bit, such a beautiful place.
Hi Fongfong C 🤗 Don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal to fear the unknown…most people do! If you are moving to Brisbane to study, there are lots of social activities, clubs, sports, etc at the Universities here that you can do which will help you to make some new friends. Hopefully internet technology makes it easier to keep in touch with your family 😊Brisbane is a wonderful city and Queenslanders are friendly and easy going. You have lots to look forward too ☀️❤️

Our garden really is the reason we moved here, we had booked an inspection with the real estate agent and when we drove into the driveway, we said “wow, we didn’t expect this” when we got out of the car and saw the garden. All credit to the previous owners who thoughtfully planned it out and filled it with native plants and trees that attract beautiful native birds. Our son Matthew also helped us so much over the last 12 months with more planting, trimming, composting, mowing, the bees, chicken coup etc ❤️ We love our chickens….they are the cutest. We hope your health improves as we see our way through the other side of winter. Looking forward to a visit to warm Brisbane in the Spring might be just what you need ☀️ Take care ❤️

Ah yes @Tesla Nerds…we’ve been to the one at Gasworks a few times before. This was our first time at the West End one. They have a great lunch deal during the week for 3 courses plus a wine or beer for$31 or 2 courses for $25 (up to 3pm). 🤗
The hot pizza called Diavola means “Devils” pizza because it’s hot as hell 🤣🤣🤣 (grew up going to Italy every summer since I was a kid, since we’re a neighbour country) 😀

Aaaah, that makes sense! It was such a delicious pizza….hot and spicy 😊 Paul had half so I could save room for the tiramisu. We ❤️ Italian food! There’s nothing better than an Italian pizza is there?!

Hi Sidek 🤗 Yes, we love the scenery on the Maleny-Landsborough Road also! They have just resurfaced the road,so it’s even better right now. The weather should be great in August for you when the days get warmer but there’s no humidity ☀️

Thanks guys 🤗 we love the garden and although there’s always plenty of work to do, it’s really satisfying too. Winter gives us a chance to get plenty of pruning and mulching done (Paul prunes and Beth mulches to Harry Styles) ❤️

It was a nice sunny day to go for a drive through the Sunshine Coast to Gympie ☀️ After our trip to Brisbane yesterday, we stayed home and guess what we did? We made lots of orange 🍊 juice!!!!
The pizzas looked super and I can tell by your reactions that it tasted as good as it looked. Generous servings too. Were you able to take any leftovers home, or was it too good to stop? ;)
Hi David 🤗 yes, you can take leftovers home and they’ll give you containers. Paul hadn’t had breakfast or lunch that day, so he had 1.5 pizzas and I had a half ….so I could fit in some of that delicious tiramisu 😋

Hi @Mz Eve 🤗 Thanks for watching our video! We have only 4 chickens and they’re pets to us and we only have an orange and a lemon tree but we’ve been giving away our oranges and lemons 🍋🍊🍋🍊to our friends and neighbours 🤗
