I remember seeing him play at Trouw, I remember getting some pills off a dutch guy who put four in my hand and said do not take more than one just as swallowed the two.....it got messy!!!!! Surgeon was banging!
Holy fuckin fuck. I've been following this guy since the mid 90's and he's never failed in moving forward in an innovative manner and dropping absolute behemoth tracks. This lives up to exactly who the Surgeon is, techno perfection at it's hardest.
I love how the second but last track is so chill and mellow which lulls everyone into thinking it's the last track of the set then BANG.... Whitehouse! That left them shaken I bet!
This is unbelievable. Right from the long, teasing intro that left you begging for him to drop in, it is of the highest quality. This is REAL techno, putting so many of the so-called big name DJs in the shade, as they constantly create sets to please the masses who want commercial stuff, not pure techno. Seeing Surgeon in five weeks (with Regis) and to say that I'm excited doesn't come close. Ben x
commercial techno go boom boom very loud :) I was quite into a lot of the really structured and well detailed and arranged artists on drum code for like the first 2 years when I began listening to techno atleast at home in my own time (not all of it of course, but a decent amount). But the less techno I began to listen to on/off since then and then rediscovered/discovered new styles/sounds, and even ways of listening to stuff I have/haven't heard; I realized how much I like very stripped back somewhat minimal, more 'chaotic' regarding sonics, the texture and way the sounds sound individually and how they make a feeling. RATHER, than just the impact a drop or say big over the top build up can have. In this case the intro is a growing noise that constantly makes you want more and the same is the rest of the set. It just simply bangs.
What I most like about this video is that we all can appreciate that Surgeon will always stay calm and chill while our minds are being exploted by his performance.
I remember being on the guestlist for Surgeon supporting Dave Clark at The Concorde in Brighton, back in '96. There was only about 10 people there! Boy dun good
been listening to this set for I think 5 years now and the amount of final exams it has helped me get through is tantamount to the fact that it's the most bangin motherfucker around
You see this guy Surgeon, he's a goddamn legend. Saw him play more than once at the one and only ORBIT and he rocked the gaff everytime. 800 steaming bodies hanging off balconies screaming.

True Story !!!
I saw Surgeon play about 20 years ago in Dublin . I've nothing but respect for this DJ. Still doing it now and still as good. Live art.
I love how the second but last track is so chill and mellow which lulls everyone into thinking it's the last track of the set then BANG.... Whitehouse! That left them shaken I bet!
Every damn night guy feel the techno!!!!!!
One of the only old school producer/DJ's keeping the tru vibe alive and playing music that's actually good.

I like your passion for Real Techno!!
What I most like about this video is that we all can appreciate that Surgeon will always stay calm and chill while our minds are being exploted by his performance.
that intro is a masterpiece
easily one of the best and straightest " techno " - live acts out there.
*with dubstep
+Finley Burnett
classic progressive loop/detroid-techno with brighton/wonky-techno influences. there's absolutely no dubstep. just my two cents.
The Vex´d track at around 50 min in is definitely dubstep my dude
* facepalm *
The best part of this is from 0:00 to 1:01:09
