This brought back a lot of memories of when I was a teenager and going to the mall was the place to go. You can get like $20 from your parents and get stuff with it and spend all day with your friends. The good ol days of being a kid 🥰😊

The roses, and Buddy with a mouth filled with gum was so cute. Nashville has a few malls, but it's not as big of a thing here as it was in the past. We have a bunch of unique little mom and pop stores with items that you can not find anywhere else, they get alot of business here.

I totally loved that moment when Audrey was getting purposed to lol...her face said it all. It's ok daddy it won't happen for a while! But eventually! My daughter got her ears pierced when she was 5, she enjoys wearing them and now she's 12 and a half.
Rose's are beautiful flowers and that's wonderful that your family did that, it's so awesome that you love blessing other's and teaching that to children. They will definitely remember all the wonderful things you taught them through out the years.

Growing up in Duluth, MN across the bridge in Superior, WI there was the Mariner Mall. As I got older times changed and stores started closing so it earned the affectionate nickname of Mariner Morgue. 🤷🏼‍♀️ but even the mall on the duluth side has changed a bit since I left home.

Love the footage of handing out the roses. The kids were so cute in their little outfits. Bentley Hall definitely counts as a mall, just on a smaller scale. I am in San Jose,CA ( part of the Bay Area in Northern California , also known as Silicon Valley). We have 4 malls in our city alone. I personally am not a fan of malls, nor are my teenage sons. We mainly go for the movie theatre or the restaurants.😬

Online shopping has kind of killed that even before all things COVID. I think there are also areas that, in my hometown just outside Pittsburgh, the malls also became a place of violence, muggings, and car thefts -I think that being the nail in the coffin. Its a shame because I love the mall and even though Ive moved from Pittsburgh long ago, even our mall here is not a place I feel safe walking to and from my car from the mall especially after dark.

People can afford them more than the pricey stuff. I wouldn't pay over $20 for a hoodie or jeans. Top price for shoes $50. Your prices in that mall were over the top. Fortunately we live less than an hour from a major city, and there is one major mall that is always busy and has many modern stores. There is a Macy's, JcPenney, Lego Store, Apple, and Peloton. For boutiques and luxury, there is Nordstrom, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, and Coach. Sears also closed there, but there are construction plans for unannounced stores.

We are from Australia, in December 2018 we stayed in Fairbanks so we could see the Northern Lights, we spent every day going around the stores and I remember Bentley Mall as we bought sooo many pairs of Converse shoes from that shoe shop which was sadly closed, the shop attendants were so nice and the shoes were so cheap compared to what we pay in Australia, we loved Fairbanks and have such wonderful memories of it 😊

I went in February 2019 for the same reason. I didn’t get to visit this mall. But I loved going into the shops and looking at everything. My hotel was near a Walmart, so during the day, I’d walk over and wander the aisles randomly! 😆 I loved Fairbanks, Anchorage and Alaska in general. 🇦🇺

I live in Northeast Ohio...and we have no malls at all...they are all vacant...I kind of miss them...especially during winter...because I don't have to go outside to store to store....the kids were so cute giving roses....God Bless and see you next time...

Alaska is a beautiful state. Living there is a never ending chore.

I do recall working as a clerk at the North Pole Post Office - USPS - it is vastly different. That was 1981 to 1984 distribution clerk/window clerk.
If I remember correctly, Fred Meyers is located across the street from Bentley Mall.
Boy, I remember the friendliness of the people of Fairbanks and North Pole having lived in both cities. South-central Alaska now.

I loved how so many people wanted a hug from the kids, I think that was the most touching!

Great video! Next time you’re in Phoenix check out Scottsdale fashion square mall. Some other good options are the Biltmore fashion park and Scottsdale quarter.

Grew up there, left in 2000. Tried again in 2004 but just couldn't take it. Still have family there that love it so we visit.

Malls are all around me in neighboring communities. I'm also fairly close by The Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. Now thats a mall complete with an aquarium, movie theater, amusement park and so much more!

I live in Los angels, more specifically the San Fernando valley and we have 3 malls in this area and and a few more around us! Some are bigger and more luxurious w more expensive stores, the grove is a popular one if you’re visiting LA, so is century city.

Back in the early "80's" I use to go to the mall a lot but not anymore. Mall's in my area have a lot of empty stores right now. I guess the days of the mall are starting to fizzle out. Unless it's something I need immediately I prefer shopping online. I don't have to leave my house and it's safer. I loved the beautiful red outfits the girls were wearing while passing out the roses and Garrett was such a cutie pie in his red attire! Love you guys! God Bless you ALL! ❤🙏🙏🙏

I love the benches in the middle of the mall, just in case anyone gets exhausted from walking so much :)

  • @breezyresortsiaton4401

It was 1985 and a Army buddy and I had just got stationed at FT Wainwright. took a taxi down to the Bentley Mall and now we never expected what we encountered. We walked into one side walked thru it and look at each other and went, "This is the mall?" LOL I think we might have both said WOW this is gonna be a long 3 years.

In my hometown, there were 2 malls when I was growing up. Sadly one has been completely leveled and the other sits empty. Most people went to Green Bay to shop and the smaller stores closed and then the larger stores closed also.

One of my friends used to work for the corporate offices of Payless. I was sad to find out they were closing all the stores due to bankruptcy. Growing up that was THE place to get shoes.
