Thank you Ms. Darla! I am a big fan. You are a natural teacher and your fine southern charm is what makes us Aussies love you Yanks so much. Not only are you educating about the lost art of brush script, but also the lost art of grace and style. I hope your mentioned children are proud of you. They should be.
Love your teaching style, Darla. I was in the trade for about 15 years back in the 80s and 90s. The vinyl tsunami and age made the big decision for me. Looks like you're a Westcoaster because you don't use a mahl stick. Never could get the hang of those things. You made a brief statement that everybody should take as gospel. "Its not perfect, but it never will be" Remember that beginners and you'll save yourself a lot of frustration! If you want perfect buy a vinyl cutter. Also, after you do a few jobs for money you'll soon develop your own style as you increase your speed. Speed is the difference between eating a Big Mac or steak. Glad to see the craft still lives.
Miss Dee, thanks so much for taking the time to teach! I've watched many sign painting videos and your are absoluely the best! Now I feel like I really have a good place to start and will set up a studio soon and start practicing again!
Keep going miss Darla, I'm following. Haven't done a letter yet. Life got in the way. Only my second consecutive day watching you. Can't wait to get going. Thanks
Thanks so much for all these lessons Miss Darla. I grew up around sign painting as my cousin did all of my uncles stock cars and her dad's work trucks - so I knew it wasn't as simple as just slapping some paint on. Now my dad wants his GTO lettered and I'm so glad to have found you. Hope you are well and might find the time, energy, and inclination to make some more videos. Also, I'm a not so young lady 😁and my cousin was too.
This isn't what I expected when I searched "language learning" but it was super interesting. And although it's not related to this video exactly it made me think about how learning different fonts and scripts when you're learning a language can be really important but is often overlooked.
There is no substitute for experience and Darla sure has that. When I was starting out an uncle of mine used to tell me the reason God gave you two ears and one mouth was so that you could listen twice as much as you talk. For anyone interested in learning how to letter signs just listen to what she is saying.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. You could place a bit of coloured tape on your brushe's handle so we can see when and how much you twist your brush.. If you find it relevant and confortable for you. Thanks again, from Portugal.
Thank you Darla for all the information and experience contained in your videos. I think you have done 3/4 now and I have saved them all. Please make some more when you get the chance.
Thank you for sharing your professional expertise! I’m so glad you’re making videos! Your directions are very clear and easy to follow. As a welder and artist, have a lot of respect for skilled trades :).
Love your videos ❤️. Love how you break down each letter, it really makes sense. Only been trying this for a week now but will practice, practice, practice everyday I promise! Keep those videos coming. ❤️🖌️🎨
Hi Darla - what a pleasure to watch your videos! Here is the young lady who is new to this trade! Thank you so much for sharing. You can't get enough of tutorials and teachings nowadays, especially here in Germany you can hardly find any teachers. Best Wishes, Franziska
Thanks so much for sharing your craft with me, I am amazed how easy you make it look, I am that it will come with practice, practice and more practice. Once again thank you Regards Chris (UK)
Hi Darla! I've only recently gotten into sign painting. Mostly for myself, sometimes items for friends. I struggle with lower case script/cursive. I'm going to practice my ovals as per your technique and see if I can't get myself some better cursive! Thanks for your generous tips - you're really great. Off-topic, but I am a huge fan of blue and blue/purple nail polish myself - I smile when I see your blue nails in videos lol!
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Erick Leandro I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.

Did you do an upper case video?
not yet, I'm still learning how to film my video, edit and post on youtube. My family helps when they can. I'll add it to my list of future videos.
