The screenplay & the treatment of the two characters is so mature despite being bottled as a romantic comedy. Very European way of filmmaking. Quite refreshing from BW . SRK & Anushka have amazing chemistry and the kiss was soooooo beautiful.

The writing reminded me of 'Don Juan de Marco', and 'The Very Thought of You' (aka 'Martha meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence'). Both perfect movies in their own way.

This movie is more like Before Sunrise.. which unfortunately many people don't understand or like in India..
One of reviewers (Suchitra) was mad on Imtiaz for not showing Harry's backstory... I think its a directors call, not the reviewers...
Many reviewers wanted a planned story.. They said - Story to hai nahi.. When you capture a moment in life - does it always have a story? This was when Harry met Sejal.. It didnt come with the set targets like ladka ladki milenge, fir bichdenge, fir dubara milenge.. This movie was a journey and a very beautiful one :)
P.S. i m not a fanboy! so people belonging to camps stay away please :)

I kind of get your point...I liked the movie more than Sucharita or any of the other reviewers did, too. But I had to really try hard to overlook some of the plot holes :)
Like i said, its not a masterpiece by any means.. and SRK after the strings of flops was certainly not making it one!!
But there is so much negativity around the movie and majorly SRK.. My friends who are totally against SRK (just because they think it was SRK and not KRK who promised to leave the country as soon as Modi became the prime minister) were spreading reviews and posting reviews on all the sites... just because they hate him.. and even without watching this movie..
Watch the movie - if didn't like it, say anything about it.. Like you are doing.. you didn't like certain things about this movie and you are vocal about it... You have the right to say this...
But there r people who r killing the movie without watching it and on purpose to destroy a career, a star and a big part of the industry!!! and unfortunately, our social media is too powerful to do anything!!
Rishi Sabharwal I am a big imtiaz ali fan but after watching this movie i was disapointed.In my opinion rockstar and tamasha are his best directed movies.I didnt felt that kind of mysterious magic that i usually find in his films.

Imtiaz has the potential but it seems to be over confident resulting in bad movies one after another( Tamasha, JHMS and love Aaj kal 2). Will be interesting to see how he gets new producer for his next movie

Imtiaz is going everywhere not with his own money. WIth the money of producer. And he visited 4 countries to find a ring? wow what a crap. he is giving flop after flop.. Now no producer should even give 1 rupee to him. Only visiting places can't save a movie. Good direction and good acting needed. I am very sad for srk, though he acted superbly but still the movie will flop because of this director. i don't understand what imtiaz think about himself?

JHMS, though not a masterpiece is not a boring movie by any means.. Its more on the lines of Before Sunrise... you don't need a story for such movies, but moments... and chemistry between the lead.. and both of em were present in this movie..
No matter what i, and some honest people who have seen the movie and didn't dislike it, say... this movie has lost a lot.. and i would not blame either the movie or the director for it.. There is a lot of negativity stemming around SRK... Either he would have to work in multiple starcast movies to avoid that negativity or would have to make a cheesy patriotic (even though hollow) movie!!!
