Some of the comments people have left on this video are both shocking and disgusting. If you've come here to make a degrading comment about the young actress in this film, kindly restrain yourself and leave. Nobody wants to see it and nobody really cares.
It's nothing new, sadly. Most people remove/clean their commentsection often so you don't see it. I've seen sexual remarks about handicapped people in shows, people that were dead and people that were dying of cancer. Things like; 'Too bad she died, would've loved to ... my ... in her ... before she kicked the bucket' or 'She looks like a Gremlin, but I still would..if she wore a bag." Best thing to do is remove them and appreciate the fact that there's more happy ones. There are more kind people in the world than mean ones.
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
I love when the magic of the YT algorithm throws me a seemingly random recommendation that really sticks. This was brilliant! I too had crippling shyness as a kid and my Mom championed for me to be in every school play and also enrolled me in kiddie acting group. I can remember both Mom and Dad up late at night after busy days at work and on the weekends making costumes and building sets. Every little person should havr that kind of cheerleaders.
Aww this is wonderful! I wanna hug the young Catherine and the grown up Catherine! It must have been so emotional for her to live all that again! Great ending! GREAT!
Her playing her own mother was really cute. She seemed so sweet and kind I have no idea what her personality is like in real life cause I've never watched an interview and this woman plays so many different personalities its beyond remarkable.. But if I ever were to meet her in person I hope she'd be this degree of sweet and so dang funny it would make my stomach hurt
I´m from germany , and I´ve never laughed like Catherine Tate made me. It is so wrong that we can not buy her stuff here on DVD nor see it on TV !! I hope she will be known for quality here some day...
I just commented on a Nan video last night because I’d never had the privilege of knowing Catherine Tate existed and just found out about her when I’d stumbled onto these videos, and I was in tears, doubled-over in pain laughing harder than I can remember doing in some time now. This video brought back some horrible memories for me, and that little girl is so sweet and so cute, and once again, I was in tears, this time because of how beautifully heartwarming this was. That was the most perfect ending and I’m tearing up again thinking about it. Catherine Tate is an absolute gem of a woman. Please take good care of her, England. I think she’s my hero.
The teacher/nun reminded me of every terrible teacher I had in my snobby posh school that covers ALL of them!! However I never came across a child with this issue OR didn't notice. This skit should be watched by everyone who has ever been disparaging or downright horrible re a child with this issue. In every shy person there is a fun gregarious person just dying to be set free and we would do well to help them at every opportunity!
Now that was a unique episode to see Catherine tate play a kinda serous mature roll, she's pretty and her hair looked good, think it was her natural hair. The little girl blew me away with her song at the end I thought she's a little Freddie mercury, my ex and me injoyed that movie bohemian rhapsody. Catherine she's so many awesome characters, that nun was stuck up, she expected the little girl to get stage fright so bad she would wee on stage, But she did pull a wee face at the end, we are probably ment to think she did.
That little girl is absolutely adorable. But then, she grew up to be Catherine Tate so what else should we expect? 😄❤ I'm secretly in love with Catherine Tate.
This was 10 years ago. GG wouldn’t be appropriate to have in this this nowadays. The girl is very sweet and if her hair is naturally that colour, I can only imagine the relentless bullying she has endured. One of my own daughters is a beautiful red head who spent years as a teen dyeing it. She’s 24 now and embraces it!
While watching the classroom scene at the beginning I had a bit of a flashback to my own experiences as a very young child in parochial school. My first teacher was not like the one in this video, but as I got older I would run into nuns like her. Strangely enough, my first reaction to watching that scene was the same as the grandmother's (?) and aunt's (?): the nun is a baxxard. Also had a flashback to my mom preparing dinner and gossiping with another woman...trying to remember exactly who it was they were talking about.
Aww. In third grade, I had a very scary old teacher. I was a year younger than everyone else in my class, and the teacher terrified me so much. One day, I raised my hand to go to the bathroom, and my teacher didn't see me, and I wet myself because I was too afraid to speak up. I'm not so shy anymore, and this was so cute and reminded me a bit of myself.
Probably not, just my overly nerd mind making connections... But there IS a fez -- for Eleven -- and a Brown Trenchcoat -- that I'm pretending it's for Ten!
Oh my gosh, this was absolutely beautiful and adorable. Why is there never any quality, feel good shows like this in the US? Oh yeah...it's because we're built on one standard: if you're not the best, and setting the direction for the pack, you simply don't matter. And, in fact we will brake you until you know that. I would guarentee most of the disgusting rude comments on here came from americans. Not all of us are rude assholes.

That is the cutest little girl I've seen on the internet. Extremely talented and so lovely with her beautiful red curly locks!
If there was such a thing I guess she would qualify
I think that girl is in the comedy Benidorm
No,you're wrong
@@marleneg7794 😂
The star of the show is a boy actor playing a girl playing a boy
Aww Catherine's re-enacted her own little story. So sweet 💜
Catherine Tate is just brilliant. She truly is gifted.
Don't know how I came here but glad I did.
I was just thinking the same.
I think my heart just melted
Catherine Tate grew up to be something impeccable.

This was wonderful! As a redhead, I approve and support! #gingergang

Amazing story with superb performances. Reminds me of a little sign which my mum gave my daughter, which said 'don't let anyone dull your sparkle'

LOL. She is not shy, she is reserved. love it.(should use that more often)
Shy little girls if given the chance can go very far in life.
There is so much heart in this little movie. Amazing!

Roar
I bought "The Catherine Tate Show" DVD, she plays about ten different characters, have you seen it?
I LOVE this show. I note that all the children in her sketches are really good actors
Wow! This brings back memories. Catherine Tate is one of the finest talents ever!
this is an autobiography of Catherine Tates life basically
Yep pretty much
Rachel Murphy the little girl is her awwe
Children are our strength - they are amazing. Catherine is the best 😆👌

Excellent acting by ALL involved.

"The straw will soak it all up" lmao
That was really heartwarming.
THAT!!!!! WAS BRILLIANT!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keep telling a child they're shy and they will be x
I love this - and the dedication at the end, too!
EXCELLENT, I was so afraid when the little Catherine Tate came on it would end in disaster.
Ms Tate writes a great story, we've always loved her characters and are sad that BBC America doesn't show her anymore, thank goodness for YT!!!!!
That little girl is absolutely adorable. But then, she grew up to be Catherine Tate so what else should we expect? 😄❤
I'm secretly in love with Catherine Tate.
She’s talented & I love her too 🥰
This was so random but I'm glad I watched it :)
That child is soo adorable
Catherine Tate just may be my favourite person.
It's good to see Anita Dobson in front of a camera again.
THERE'S A LITTLE KID WITH FEZ AND BOWTIE.

Awh, Catherine! Thank you Mom for me for bribing that nun to let you come out of that shell.
Much love, dear.
As it turns out Gary Glitter was a poor choice, all things now considered.

Completely melted my heart.
Saw this when they were first showing on TV. One of the funniest pieces of comedy I've seen. Still has me in stitches.
Never tell a child they are shy.
I literally peed myself once because I didn't want to raise my hand during story time lmao
I peed myself in a castle on a school tour cause i was too shy to interrupt the tour guide. Boy, was i daft when i was a kid...
dude4840 me too. So painfully shy as a child. I wore glasses and was bullied on a daily basis, even in front of teachers who didn't give a damn.
the teachers are the worst!!
My infant teacher was a saint, on our first day he told us to interrupt him if we needed the toilet or just get up and go if it was story time.
I used to pee my self because I wanted to wear the school knickers as they had nice patterns. HHahah
Wonderful. Actually got tears in my eyes.
"She's not shy" "Of course she's not, she's reserved"
Those red curls, adorable.
That is what you need...a supportive mother!
What a lovely little tale. I was singing along in my head.
I used to love watching this at Christmas. The Jack Whitehall one was my favourite, had me laughing!
That little girl is going to be GORGEOUS when she grows up. Like, model status. She's a beautiful little girl.
She's soooo adorable!!!!!

OMG 'Have you see her Gary Glitter?' Priceless!!!!!

That was awesome! Best Nativity ever!
Brilliant, just brilliant. Catherine Tate is so good!!!
Aww if it was really 1976 I could have been there at that school .
No matter how many times I've watched it I still bust out laughing when she knocks over baby Jesus.
the ending actually suprised me
Aw! This is just adorable! ♥ The little girl who played Catherine reminds me of little orphan Annie (because of her hair).
And absolutely nothing else.
Now It All Makes Sense.

oooooh a fez, Doctor Who reference?

Pearl Playdinn the fez is most probably a reference to Tommy Cooper.
Cathrine Tate for "Australian Prime Minister!!!!" YAY.
