Dr. Ralph Stanley would be proud of this rendition. You did him proud.
My thoughts exactly
Yes! 🙌🏼
No doubts. Stand tall with that one bud, you nailed it.
I turned my head and as soon as he started singing I looked to see if it was him or Ralph singing. ❤
Check out Clifton Hicks' rendition.
My 95 year old father passed last month, a veteran of 2 wars and a wonderful father, husband and all around human being, knew this time was coming but still hard, although I believe he’s in a better place, his body was failing but his spirit remained strong, god bless dad.
🙏 thanks for sharing. My condolences to you and your family
God speed
Best to you and your family. Sounds like we lost a treasure of a man
Just sat with my best friend for 2 weeks until he died. May 1st 2024. This shit hits hard.
May god bless and comfort you my friend
God bless. I know the empty feeling and have come to accept death as one door closed and another door opened.
Condolences.
My Sympathies to you n Rest of family❤❤
I’m so sorry. 😢
Huge respect. You filled huge boots here, did Mr Stanley proud.
Giving o brother where art thou vibes and I’m here for it
Exactly!!
The original song is older I believe than that movie.
But that's Appalachian blues/ railroad blues
I wasnt ready for that 😢 just browsing... im 44 i think death all the time, especially since my health hasn't been the greatest.. god bless to all great song...
Was I the only one holding my breath through the whole song? Wow. This is beautiful.
Nope and yes it is
You would have died by the end. But yes this song is fire
no... I didn't exhale until the next tract was starting.
Yeah this is a great cover
@@banjoman29572:24 would not kill you
Ralph Stanley would be proud, I've been a Ralph Stanley fan my whole life. No one ever does him justice, but this did. Man, amazing job, you slapped the mustard out of that song. Great great job.
I am from southeast KY and your voice echoes the sorrow of death and loss. You are so talented. God bless you completely.
"To drop the flesh off of the frame. The earth and worms both have a claim" it's beautiful in its own way. Without death, there can not be life. Destruction brings creation and creation brings destruction
I have never found a version I liked as much as Ralph Stanley until now this is amazing
From Easter KY I can say whole heartedly that Bro.(Doc)Ralph would be proud…as am I! 🙌🏼♥️
Agreed
Gives me an ‘o brother where art thou?’ Feels this is incredible can’t stop listening
The original singer is the man who sang that song as well.
LOVE the black and white of the woods. Beautiful!! I've listened to this a dozen times today.
Good gods, i got goosebumps @ the 1st "Oooo Death'. Was already a huge of Ralph Stanley's rendition. Beautifully done, God bless 👏🙏
Edit: even the forest went quiet to listen, impressive!
My ancestors moved from Kentucky along with many others after ww1 to the Wenatchee Wa Valley, where money grows on trees . I sometimes feel drawn back to there by the voices of those that stayed 😢
Nailed it brother- haunting
😮Wow! Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you ♥️
A guy i worked with that has had a couple heart attacks would sing this. It always gave me goosebumps.
Panic is what i felt when i saw that someone was doing this as I grew up on RS. Blown away is how I left......thanks Ben
This is one of the best things i have heard in a long time. It is good to hear honest, real vocals, with out all of the Nashville gimmicks, fads, fashion, bling ,and bull shit.
Ben Fuller, this is so powerful. God love your heart. Hope to see you soon. Papaw
I love it. I want this at my funeral.
Voice is another level
If I had a voice like yours I'd quit work and sing the rest of my days Amazing
I want this played at my funeral. Perfect.
Well Done Youngster! Perfect, standing there, hands in pockets, accepting the inevitable. Loved This.
Such a heavy, serious, realistic song interpretation of the final journey we must all take at some point in our lives. Only knowing and trusting in Christ gives it purpose, meaning and redeeming value. I can't hardly fathom the fact that the Holy, sinless Son of God would willingly succumb to the agony, sorrow and excruciating pain and loss of dying on the cross--to save wretched, unworthy sinners. Praise to the One who suffered not just physically on our behalf but spiritually as well! If we know Him and trust Him we will only experience dying physically. Thank you, Lord Jesus for loving us so much!
Amen!
It’s a Really Super Old Song. It goes way way back to where people sang it slow & sorrowful struggling through poverty. Super old.
It only got amped up for the movie. Truth.
When you hear lyrics that you feel as if you written it yourself. Soul touching!
I can't stop replaying this song. It is the soul of humanity; it is a bleak cry, yet a spark of divinity projects Ben's voice to the heavens, and in that is a beautiful hopefulness.
Powerful vocals reminds me of them good ol days 😮
I.. Just... Wow. Chills.
I've been looking for this forever
Уже много лет певцы делятся для меня на две неравные группы.
Те, кто может петь по-настоящему народные песни.
И все остальные.
Встретить того, кто понимает народное пение, независимо от нации, для меня настоящее чудо.
Oh, how beautiful this is. Thank you ❤
Stark, aching, and beautiful.
13 times over and 13 beers later and still holy shit man
I’ve always loved hearing Dr Ralph Stanley sing this song, but I also like your take on it!! Great voice!!
Just a great, heartfelt rendition of this classic! Gave me chills
My goodness this is freaking spot on!
This is the anthem of mortality , self realized .
What a beautifully haunting anthem it is.

It’s the lyrics hammered to the tree for me, Ralph almost grinned. O’ Death.
Wow! That voice is special.
Going in Tuesday morning for a heart cath and possible stent placement after my 2nd heart attack. I find peace in Jesus Christ knowing that if I pass I am with Him but if I live He is with me.
Amen! I’ll be praying for you!
