    Thanks for the review. I'm 51 and haven't worked out in years. Better late than never I suppose. I picked one up the other day on sale at Academy for $599. I couldn't be happier.

    Great review. We are setting up a home gym in our new house and I'm trying to do my research before I spend money on it.

    Matt,
    Thank you for watching. I like this machine, there are good deals, if you can find one on sale. It is quite a bit to install. It took me 3 days an hour here and there. Best is to lay all parts out and just take your time. As for the machine it is incredibly smooth operation, from pully to smith machine. And impex the people who make marcy line their customer service in an A+ when you call them it's an actual person who answers the phone. Overall I'd give it a 5 stars. It's not commercial quality but damn close enough for me! I hope this helps please feel free to ask for any videos you are particularly interested in I will record for you. Take care!

    Hey John great review, I cant find any really.
    A few questions,
    1) hows the machine holding up 8 months down the line?
    2)have you overstacked the weights for the pulley system, states 90kg max.
    3)how often do you grease the machine?
    4)using the lat tower how do you stabilise your legs when using?
    cheers mate hope the workouts are going good

      I just sold it due to needing extra cash for my vacation, and got a gym membership, but I did use it for almost a year.
      1) it has held up nice for my use, I used it regularly 4 to 6 days a week heavy use. The only thing is the pullies tend to deteriorate. but good news is that you can buy online and from manufacturer which has great customer service.
      2) I have not overstacked, the most I put on is around 80kg for lat, any more and you cant get a good workout. Not that I couldn't do more, but unlike commercial grade equipment, there is nothing to hold you down while you pull the weight. I believe that it could be done though, if you have some sort of strap to strap you to the floor like a seat belt. Also I did not like doing lat pulldown on it, it was awkward due to the pulley coming off to either side, it is hard to get your seat in, which answers question 4.
      3) I greased every day, it is a square design, its not the worst but its not he best either. Motion slid freely with not much resistance.
      Also, one key thing I did not like, the bench, it has an arch and it was very hard on back when benching. If i kept it i was going to get a flat bench.
      Overall its a decent machine if you get it at a low price, but its nothing like going to gym, its just for those long days at work when you have to train and have no time. I hope this helps please feel free to ask me anything else! Cheers Mate!

    I like the machine overall if you get it for a good deal I'd say move on it! Only thing I don't like is the pull down, I wish it had a center Lat pull down, and the bench has a weird arch in it and it hurts my back when trying to lift heavy, I have to get a regular flat bench. And the bench can't go all the way up to do military press while in the cage on the smith so I have to get a utility bench. Other then that it's great!

      Yea that's about right, I had problems with sears so I got a discount, install isn't to bad, took me 3 days a couple hours here and there, and marcy impex customer service is the best! I was missing a couple parts and I called them and they shipped it right to my door within a couple days. Just lay out all the parts and follow instructions. You should be fine. Of you need any help and are stuck on parts just leave me let me know and I'll take video for you. Good luck!

    When you got your new equipment shipped to you is there a part number for your linear bearings part. I’m trying to replace my peace and I cannot find that part anywhere

    Can you flat bench with this machine? With free weights?

    • @mikeyragona
      @mikeyragona  Před 6 lety

      yankcm01 yes you can with the bar, you have to purchase a separate bar though.

    • @Rangerfan-gz1rx
      @Rangerfan-gz1rx Před 6 lety

      Yes but I wouldn't recommend this if you want to use free weights, I would suggest a power rack, I bought this machine 6 months ago, I'm getting rid of it as soon as possible, it's a piece of crap but the main problem I have is that I primarily use free weight barbell training and the holes are too far apart, the adjustable racks are not designed well and they are a pain when trying to bench and squat unless you armed and legs are the perfect length for the machine.
