- In this video I unbox and show you some of whats on the Kinhank Hyperspin Attraction 12TB external hard drive. Calling this game collection massive doesn't even begin to cover it. This has tons of retro games from systems I've heard of as well as a ton that I never have.
They hyperspin front end is... A LOT to look at. It's worth checking out to see if you like it. Either way though, this is an incredble library of ROMs even if you decide not to play the games directly from it.

I don’t care what anybody thinks but to do this yourself you have to find all the roms then find the bioses which aren’t hard to find then you have to spend hours downloading 12 TB of games plus you have to buy the 12 TB hard drive I would pay $300 easily for this which I already have because it’s worth it. thank you for the video.
Yeah that’s the thing. It’s a massive amount of work to do this yourself. It’s far more worth it to do it this way and then just adjust the ROMs to your preferences.
Good luck on backing it up. If it fails you will lose everything.
This brings back memories of when classic retro video games 🎮 and arcades became popular and they all started out as classics and now they have become popular again and they all have came back to life with the Kinhank Hyperspin and then they started playing classic retro video games 🎮 that they had been playing since in the mid-seventies, eighties, nineties, two-thousands and hundreds of retro video games 🎮 and arcade machines that had been around forever and still existed today and now they have been brought back to life as they have now for generations to come to the future in the Kinhank Hyperspin era! The Kinhank Hyperspin is going to all devices (including televisions) that will allow us to play retro video games 🎮 with the ability of the future generations of Kinhank Hyperspin and we gots to have the Kinhank Hyperspin.. and we need to go back down memory lane and get an opportunity to play all the classics that we have already played before…
There are sooooooo many classics on this thing. It’s also very easy to add or remove games as you want.

Yeah there are quite a few. Sometimes it’s interesting to see that one’s on systems of very different power.
I'm just trying to figure out how to get some of the broken ones to work, like MK X, and how to load cheats for the kids.

Got this about two weeks ago. I noticed while most are complete libraries some of the games for Wii, PS2 and Jaguar CD are missing. After a bit of messing around I found out how to add the roms and artwork, thankfully there is still some space available in the drive.
Yeah it’s definitely not a full rom set. Especially of the larger systems. But yeah it’s not too hard to add and remove games. I’ve done plenty of that.

Did you run antivirus on this? Looks awesome at first glance but I saw a few reviews where people showed it has malware preloaded onto it in addition to all the games.
Thank you for posting this because I actually hadn’t yet. I meant to and completely forgot. Luckily my computer has good virus protection. I did a scan last night and it ended up finding 14 possible threats. Here’s the problem, once it quarantines those all the controls get messed up. I’ll definitely have to talk about that in the upcoming review. I’m hoping my PC evening protected will make it ok, but yikes.

@johngranlund4195 I’m going to do a review where I go into this some more, but I ran a virus scan and it quarantined some stuff. Some of it was just game files, some I’m less certain of. If you let it quarantine everything though, it makes the controls pretty much unusable. I unquarantined anything that didn’t look iffy and it seems to be fine. I’d just make sure you have good virus protection on your laptop.

I think they just put the games that work the most optimally with the emulator. I have two versions of their products, thinking about getting this.

How do you map out the controls for a Xbox controller?? NES is all messed up with the mapping of the buttons.
Ahh I don’t know if I’ve messed with an NES game on there yet. The Switch controls were very messed up though. With that you had to look through the files and find the various emulators used, and then start up the emulator by itself. Then there’s usually a controller settings option in there. I’m not sure what they’re using for NES though. I would imagine it’s going through Retroarch but I’m not certain. If I can figure it out I’ll let you know.
So hey, did you run antivirus on it? I found that once my antivirus quarantined some things, the controls got super weird, but for pretty much everything. I reversed it as some of the stuff I don’t think was actually malware, and I’m hoping my PCs protection will keep stuff safe.
Perhaps play some and show us how well it plays games. That would be useful. Also, it seems to have a directory of c64. What were the c64 games in there? That would be good to know too.
Hey there. I’m working on a full review where I’ll at least show some gameplay of the more powerful systems. The tough thing is that with over 100k games, I can’t really show every collection.!’the C64 collection does have 2601 games though.

It won’t work through a console. It would have to be a windows pc. I have to admit I’m not sure of a specific mini of it can recommend. It’s going to need a system capable of running fairly demanding modern pc games to do everything.

This seems amazing, id be curious about quality of emulation. They should organize it a lot better. Systems first, then games on that system. Or at least let you choose.
Yeah I don’t know if there’s a way to change the order or not. I think it’s all alphabetical. The emulation has been mostly good so far but I haven’t tried everything. There’s some pinball emulation that I can’t get to work. The Seitch emulations controls start out messed up but it’s not too hard to go in and change it. I had an issue with Sonic All Star racing on the Xbox 360 where sometimes the music just goes away. It could just be that ROM though since it’s one I downloaded separately.
Emulation is better than the original software dude, can you expand on what you mean exactly?
Sometimes emulation doesn’t get it right or doesn’t work completely. As an example, I have Sonic All Star Racing for the 360 on here, and certainly things make all the music in the game just disappear. Emulation can upscale stuff which is fantastic, but sometimes stuff doesn’t work as originally intended.
@AllGamesNewandOld That's Xenia, modern console, I'm talking about retro stuff. Some Xenia iso not fully playable yet. However the ones that are optimised run better if your PC can handle it.
Maybe a dumb question… but I can’t just plug it In a monitor or tv I need a computer to run these games?
Yeah. It’s basically just a hard drive with the emulators and games on it. It doesn’t have its own operating system.

Hey will this connect to a nivida sheild? Can you test it out by any chance as I heard it is good for emulation and you can plug it to your tv
I don’t have an Nvidia Shield, but I don’t think it will work. The Shield runs on the android OS and I’m pretty sure you need windows to use the Kinhank. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t look like it’d work.

@gtnnk ah ok. It’s possible I’m wrong but if that’s the only way you’d have to run it I probably wouldn’t risk it. It’s possible that Kinhank support could tell you though.

This drive is a ROM BLOCKER, meaning u can only play one game at a time!!!
Is it possible to get to play more than one game off it at once, ie send a game to another computer whilst playing a game?
Some people are worried that drives like this from China might have malware on it. I did a virus scan on it and it did find some things, but at least some of them were actually game files. If your antivirus quarantines those files, it drastically messes up controls making gameplay impossible. Sadly I don’t have a set up to try playing multiple games at once.
Can I smoothly play god of war 3, 4 and ascension with this?

Sorry for the EXTREMELY slow response to this. I didn’t go into it in the video but it does have a Teknoparrot collection with 85 games.
These collections always dont include sports games..i love going back to try nba live back when it was good...or the nba sreet games those were fantastic!
This one had plenty but I got rid of them to add stuff that’s more to my tastes.
Returned to amazon. The ps1, ps2, xbox original, sega ms, sega genesis, sega saturn, nes, snes, n64 roms/emulators all run in slow motion. The gamecube, wii, ps3, ps4, ps5, xbox 360, and PC run normal speed, and the wii u/switch games dont seem to work at all.
Whoa that’s weird. I haven’t had those issues at all. I did have to change the controller settings for the Switch though

I believe so anyway. I’m not aware of a newer version, but I’m not certain how often they announce updates.

Hey sorry for the slow reply. I haven’t tried a ton of 3DS games but I haven’t had an issue yet. Have you tried running directly through the emulator? I’m guessing it’s Citra. If you open it on its own, I wonder if it would work for you.
Ps5 duelsense controller is wonky even after trying to remap buttons. You have a fix ?

That’s very odd. That’s rhetorical same controller I’m using and it’s been working ok. I haven’t had to use them, but I’ve heard they have good customer support. Maybe they can fix the problem.

@@AllGamesNewandOld The mini PCs consume very little and are powerful to run the PS3, etc... I am going to change my old laptop with WIN10 for a mini PC to which I can connect the retrobeast external disk.

It doesn’t have it on there, but since it’s a hard drive, it’s pretty easy to add and remove whatever games you like.

Just checked. They are indeed both there. On the display the SK2 title is in Japanese for some reason, but it looks like it’s the U.S. version.

Yeah I went in to try it so I could tell you how to do it, but I couldn’t get the games to show up in Citra for some reason. If I ever do figure it out I’ll let you know.

For me the most old games run totally slow ... if I press the space bar it switches to hyperfast ... I have a Ryzen 9 3900X with 64GB RAM and Geforce 3090-Ti ... should not have such a problem. All Drivers and the font which come with the harddrive are installled.
It seems this is an issue of the RetroArch emulator which is used for almost all consoles. (tried different cores and frame skipping settings ... did not change anything)
By manually loading the games with the emulator I found out that they run at normal speed in a smaller window. When I pull the window bigger in size the emulator can not hold the speed and slows down until I decrease the size again.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the case ?
That’s really strange. Is it on all the older systems?
@@AllGamesNewandOld Yes, it seems on all which use the RetroArch emulator (NES, SNES, MegaDrive, ...) . Tried this out on two different computers now. The slowdown is the same. (one with and one without a GeForce card)
... also tried to disable V-Sync ... Nothing helped so far. :(

400 systems I don’t believe there are 400 different systems yet and 100,000 games probably so many of the same games different regions just like when you play on mame go look how many teenage mutant ninja turtles are available
Yeah I haven’t counted but there are definitely duplicate games, and I’m wondering if they’re counting the different collections as systems.

I got one 2 days ago and it’s a crime that gamers don’t have this . 147 ps4 games on it 625 ps2 1788 ps1 games, Xbox 360 , no Xbox one though. And much much more. This is a must if you into retro games and no hardly any duplicate games, just same games on different systems
@@Nick-rf9hk the one and only issue with this hard drive is just: why so many games do not works out of the box?,,,,so many problems about running games, but of crz you can use it as rom-bank, this is my first purpose, i have other emulation build with batocera and launchbox.

Got one of these and haven't had a single issue. Does anyone know how to add cheats to the various games/ emulators? Kids love it but they would like some help. 😂
Heh yeah some of those games are tough. I actually haven’t really messed with cheats on there though.
