- This is the Jitterbug number from the concert version of The Wizard of Oz. Sung by Jewel and I'm not quite sure who the dancers are but the dance is fantastic and I would love to do this one day.

The dancers were the Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem. I was one of the dancers. I had such a great time and cannot wait for a reunion. We did the jitterbug. Not my era but I loved the experience.
Wow! That's so cool! You guys were amazing, I watch this part of the concert so many times as a child and said to myself, "wow... I want to learn how to dance like this" Again so cool you were a part of this, you should feel proud :)
TheatreLover51 yes. I look enjoyed the cast. Jewel and Nathan Lane were great but my favorite was Natalie Cole (RIP)
I agree this cast was just perfect! And don't get me started on Natalie Cole, I was so upset when I heard of her passing, a great life and talent we loss.
Jetaime asia, the performance was phenomenal! I loved every second and the dancers were just fantastic! Are you still in touch with any of the dancers or choreographer? One of the ways our school is celebrating 30 years of excellent is by performing an elementary through high school production of Wizard of Oz. I would love to talk to the choreographer if that´s at all possible. Thanks again and congratulations on your success!
Hi Molly, I was one of the dancers as well. It was a privilege and honor to be amongst some of the greatest talents. Unfortunately, I do not remember the choreographer's name. An awesome fact about him, is he's paralyzed... Talk about AMAZING! He was able to convey his vision in such a remarkable way. I'll try to google him. Good luck with your 30 Year Celebration.
The new Tom & Jerry Back to Oz movie brought me here. The dancing is so energetic. Never estimate the power of African American groove
I don't underestimate it but you are a bit mistaken...the dance is a rendition of the actual dance, the Jitterbug which the song is based on, (was taken out of the movie), which was popular in the 30's, 40's. My parents did this dance in high school
@@geyermaryI didn’t know until now
Jewel was a revelation in this show! We all knew she was a brilliant singer and musician, but come to find she could dance -- and scat!
GREAT SONG JAMES
I really love Judy’s version a lot more. It’s more fitting for the era
This is very redolent of the era!
Michael Klein, the HELL you say--Jewel sang this fantastically.
Um sorry but no she didn't.
Nobody asked you, you tone-deaf cow.
That's Nathan Lane, Roger Daltry and Jackson Browne too. And Debra Winger as the wicked witch.
DALTREY!
I just waited for the Great Phoebe Snow to sing and “set the record straight.” And of course she did with humility, grace and genius.
Why on gods green earth is jewel playing Dorothy in the first place?
she has the voice to carry it.
Kiuu
@Blair Bart V yeah no she’s not not even close that’s funny
@@geyermary Okay you and I must be hearing to completely different things here because as far as I’m concerned she’s disgraceful.
Hhh
0:00 If they had a staged concert version, they would have Lindsay Mendez (dreamcast for the Wicked Witch of the West) sing Red Shoes Blues (and hit that high C#)
