Hyundai & KIA fuel door won't open? How to open manually or emergency Hyundai Santa Fe fuel door, if stuck or battery die? Hyundai Santa Fe 2013 -2018 fuel door can be manually released by using the hidden handle in the trunk. KIA Sorento has the same way for emergency opening of the fuel door. The normal opening button of the fuel door is an electric operated, so if you have a problem with your car battery or the fuel door stucks for some reason manually open is only the way. By opening the Hyundai Santa Fe trunk, you will notice a plastic cap with petrol station icon on it. Just open the plastic cap by using a flat screwdriver, the manual release handle is located below. Pull the handle and the fuel door will open. Absolutely the same location and procedure is for KIA Sorento.
