    This might be my new favorite rig rundown, instead of talking for 5 minutes about 30 pieces of gear Pete can talk about 5 pieces of gear for 30 minutes. I love guitar players who really know their stuff. Wish to see more like it!

    Pete Anderson is one of the greatest guitarist, musicians and PRODUCER . Under rated and merely the best of the best...The sound he achieves is right their with the greatest.. Pete is actually my Favorite Guitarist! I really love Dwight but got into Dwight because of that fat thick taffy sound and more importantly a cat that knew how to “breath” and really play ...
    The knowledge and experience that delivers his studio sound (as a mixing hands on Producer) is very impressive and satisfying to rock to especially headphone mix - I really would anything to push Anderson into a chic Harder HIT ...4/4 Sexy Rock Pop Groove Track for a title track to a movie
    Sweep GRAMMY OSCARS etc One Track .. Pete Anderson my man tell it!

    I like how he looked scary and angry at the beginning but is actually a fun lively guy. And how he just exposed manufacturers and players obsessing over the traditional old way of doing things and equipment that blinds them from seeing how good and just getting better innovating companies and their products become.

If you're ever in Nashville, go to the Fidde & Steel Guitar Bar in Printer's Alley and have a chat with him and the people there! Go on a Wednesday and jam at the writer's night open mic! I own a couple boutique amps and had fender amps. I still remember the power of the old POD. They actually sound great. Ian Thornley of Big Wreck cut his first(might have even been the second) album through a POD. He has some serious tone. I still prefer an amp but the POD is a close second.

  • @Tmidiman

    I know people who have had AXE FX and went back to Pod XT. Crazy but true, but maybe not crazy. Old Pod units are about to become classic gear. Just like with analog gear, newer doesn't always mean better.

    Had to come back and listen to Pete explain how he absolutely destroys through a couple of PODs, tone is everywhere people, but mostly in the heart and hands! If I could tell any young player any type of tone secret, it’s to really explore different speakers before you trade in your rig! Wish I knew that one younger, 😬🤣👏

      @waynetoneseekerandersen2213 Před 4 lety +1

      chrohm yes exactly... just like I never use compressors but when I do I use keeley. Although, his best tones were always his esquire into deluxe reverb. Although, for Dwight he was using 6l6’s in deluxe with EV’s and special upgrade transformer. Funny, his DVD he did such an impressive demo of the line six stuff. I went out and purchase $800 for my home stuff and totally never used it and was frustrated constantly trying several times. The talent he has, is amazing. I laughed so much at your comment, cause I totally got it.

  • @markferguson3745
    @markferguson3745 Před 3 lety

    He makes interesting points about Gibson vs. Gretsch designs on semi hollows.Use a Streamliner now, and I think it looks and sounds better, but the old Epi Dot I had for years played easier and felt more organic.Part of it is the neck binding and thinner neck profile on the Gretsch, which isn't common to all models-, but there is something with the neck angle.Though the designs can be very similar, there are def distinct tonal differences between the two, that can be leveraged or minimalized via pickup choices.Actually learned of several players via Reverend.

    This guy is very different from the typical RR's. He does things surprisingly modern and lightweight, yet still boutique.
    He also talk erratically and a little crazy, making Bohlinger's job easy but harder to interpret than most guided conversations.

    I saw Pete a while ago (maybe 20 years?) and got a chance to hang out after the show. He had two twins on stage even though it was a small club. 100 people cap. I couldn’t believe he was running two twins. Then he showed me the secret. Two PODS going straight to the front. The twins were completely hollow. No speakers or anything.

    I'm not sure how to deal with this amp thang. I spend thousands on amps, cabinets, and effects. And of course all that stuff takes up room in my wife's house. And of course it's all heavy as hell to pack around. Then you are faced with the occasional recap and tubes. Or you can pick up a Line 6 Pod off of ebay for 50 or 60 bucks and down load sample tones until your mind explodes for free. I think I'll keep my amps and save the Line 6 for the assisted living home. Excuse me nurse...., would you change my diaper, get me a beer and find my Pod please. Damn it Pete you just destroyed everything I thought I learned about gear acquisition syndrome. (G.A.S.) I'll deal with that in the home too.
