In 1992 I’m sharing a flat with Philippe Zdar at the bottom of Montmartre.
We’ve just come across techno for the first time at a rave called Transbody Express. It makes such an
impact on us that we don’t miss a single one of the raves organised near the capital for the next year. There are
always loads of people in our flat - we mess about and make some music too! That’s where we write and compose
the first two Motorbass EPs. We come up with the crazy idea of making an album. We want to include some
less techno tracks on it so that normal friends of ours who listen to normal music can listen to it too and not give
us weird looks afterwards.
